Pretty solid episode. Nice little twist in the middle of the episode.

Pretty brutal neck snaps.

The scenes between Tommy and Dinah are total SUCKAGE.
Geoff Johns must have wrote those scenes. :)

Great episode! Tagging in case of spoiler...

Spoiler:
Is the mob boss's daughter he starts to train in next week's episode (according to the previews) also in the comics? Is there a side-kick chick Green Arrow?

Interesting reveal that Tommy's dad is the guy behind much of what is going on in the city.

So the mob daughter is becoming the Huntress, right?

Thats who it was supposed to be yea. I'm not too familiar...but its the same character on Bird of Prey right? But in that it was Batman's daughter? Or are there 2 Huntresses? And yes I know wikipedia has the answers...I will go there now.

Cannot believe I did not catch on it was Huntress until the previews for next week, DUH! I must have turned my brain off too much.

I doubt they will ever use that name though, the show is odd in that it acts like it can only use some of the comic elements, like a generic brand of cereal, I highly enjoy the show, just not sure why they have to change names and leave things out, still wondering if and when they will call him Green Arrow.

From what I remember there were at least two versions. One that was on Earth 2; which was Batman's daughter and the more recent one which is a mob boss' daughter. DC's continuity is so screwed up I don't know what's going on anymore but it looks like the second version.

In the 1980s, Huntress was Batman and Catwoman's daughter, from an alternate reality. In the 1990s, she became an Italian American who's mob family were all killed by rival mobsters, and become a mob-hunting vigilante who was willing to kill people.

She was in Birds of Prey recently, I think, but I stopped following comics after the 1990s.

The Birds of Prey version was Batman's daughter. Whatever happened to her? All I can recall was in the Crisis of Infinite Earth's ending she survived but no one but those involved in the crisis knew of the infinite Earths and everything was basically written out of existence; including her parents. Like I said DC is so screwed up and I haven't kept up at all since 98. So, I'm totally lost.

Ok. Great episode except John Barrowman is WAY to young to have a late 20's son.

I also was a little annoyed with the lack of the "title card" for the show as the tag closing the episode. Maybe that was because this didn't end on a cliffhanger as the rest of the episodes have?

I realize Oliver has started wearing make-up to black out his face, but is that going to really cut it to hide his identity? We just heard Helena say she'd recognized him. That requires a serious suspension of disbelief... then again...

I enjoyed SMALLVILLE but this show is STILL a MILLION times better!

I thought she meant was when she saw Oliver fight she noticed he fought like GA which made her conclude they were the same person.

I'm pretty sure she is Speedy not The Huntress.

Could someone please explain to me how Oliver can effortlessly beat the snot out of multiple bad guys simultaneously but has yet to win a single fight with a girl?

A little bit but it will all clear up once The Flash joins the cast and his sister becomes his sidekick.

nice to see Ollie have a confidante now, aside from diggle.

And i am sure vigilante sex trumps fugitive sex.

 I like the actress who plays Helena/Huntress. She's pretty damn hot.

 Was there any point to having China White in this episode? Kelly Hu had like 3 minutes of screentime. That silver/white wig she's wearing is awful.

Pretty good episode overall. Some really well chereographed fight scenes and lots of necks snapping. I do agree that Laurel and Tommy's scenes kind of sucked the life out of this episode, but it did serve a purpose to show who Tommy's Dad is.

I don't know what the writers intentions are with Laurel (if she will eventually become Black Canary or not), but I agree it's cool to have Ollie paired with a hot female counterpart with the same skills as him.

The narrative introducing the Huntress should have taken longer to play out. In about 30 minutes we are introduced to the character and they already have shared their secret identities and started hooking up. The fight choreography was ridiculous this episode. I can vaguely believe Arrow's moves, because the actor is just about the most ripped person on a network show at the moment and looks the role. The CW has apparently decided that all lead females on their show have to have supernatural strength and fighting skills.

It still burns me they can't call him Green Arrow yet. I hope this isn't a Smallville redux where the name Superman wasn't heard for 10 years.

Well, Jessica De Gouw (Huntress) is about 5 feet 8 inches and has a very athletic build, so I think it's feasible for her to have the fighting skills. She has the physique to make it believable.

Unlike Kristin Kreuk on Beauty and the Beast. She's only 5'3" and probably barely weighs over 100 pounds.

Good episode overall, but would have liked to have seen more island flashbacks. I like when they are interspersed in the eps.

Would have been waaaaaaaaaay better than the Tommy/Laurel stuff.

I prefer series that move along, rather than drag stories out. In the case of Arrow, they have decades of stories to tell, so burning through a single character introduction is nothing to worry about. This was one of the best episodes, I think.
