Portlandia is also pretty good on IFC.

Every month it feels like there are more and more carrier battles. Thankfully for AMC Walking Dead is a ratings smash.

AMC is trying to hold Verizon hostage by turning its viewers on Verizon. I'm not switching to another carrier for one station (or two), and if AMC's hardline tactics cause Verizon to lose that channel, I would be sorely tempted to find "alternate" means to view Walking Dead and Breaking Bad before rewarding AMC's tactics.

My sister and her husband who haven't had cable in over a decade are finally getting Verizon Fios and my brother in law is a Walking Dead and Breaking Bad fan (from watching it on DVD). They just couldnt do over the air anymore. The reception in their new house is horrible. That would suck for him if there is an extended carriage dispute like the whole Dish mess.

I'm sure this will get resolved. They always do.

Damn, I laugh at these yearly Dish and Direct TV situations but if it's happening with Fios now? I will not be happy.

Carriage disputes are common with almost every provider. I think this is the first dispute Fios has had.

Maybe if AMC offered to stop squeezing their HD bit rate on Fios I'd sympathize...barely SD quality...

This is just a game of chicken all the providers and channels play now. It works as free advertising for the channel.

I just switched to Fios last week and was disappointed to see that. No enough to switch back though. I never watch any movies on AMC and can easily find a way to see BB and TWD.

Exactly.
I saw the first "commercial" for this campaign while watching Comic Book Men on the DVR last night. If Verizon does end up losing AMC, I am not about to jump ship over it.
