I liked it. I hope the burner killer isn't that paramedic dude and its the main killer for next season but if it is that paramedic guy hope he dies next week.

Yeah, wish we got to see more of Isaak. The team-up was very well done, could have gone with a few more episodes of that, or even have him around the rest of the series in some diminished capacity, he's that good. Now I'm hoping Dexter will go after the club guy. And of course Quinn will be involved somehow.
Really hoping the arsonist isn't the fucking inspector. I mean come on.

Meh. Episode didn't do much for me either. And I'll chime in with most of you in that I'll be disappointed if the arsonist is the inspector.

Oh another thing, the kill at the firing range had to be the sloppiest kill I've seen in the series. Kills a dude in public in broad daylight and just walks away?

I thought it was good. Maybe not the best episode of the season but it wasn't bad. I sort of expected Isaak to not go out the way Dexter normally takes care of his enemies. It was kind of a nice twist if you ask me to not go the usual route of Dexter outwitting the big bad in the end and trapping him so that he could kill him. I was a bit surprised that Dexter took the guy at the gun range out so publicly. Seemed like a pretty big risk for him.
I'm also wondering what will happen with Quinn and George (the club owner), if I had to guess maybe Dexter will end up having to save his ass from the Kashka's or he possibly winds up getting killed and Dexter goes after George for his murder.
The arsonist feels like a villain that's tacked on to the end of the season to give Dexter some extra storylines to round out the season. I doubt it'll carry over to next year.

Ray Stevenson was a great guest star for this show. He really brought something to the table and elevated that storyline. Hopefully, one of the premium cable shows can find him something to do.

It was very sloppy but since the guy had direct ties to the Ukrainian mob, it wasn't a kill that would ever come back to haunt Dexter. Still, it seemed rushed. Like they just wanted to get it over with.

Yeah, I'm also very disappointed with the way the Isaak story played itself out. This season's first big misstep.
I have a suspicion about the arsonist... I think it is the arson investigator doing it. And I think the arson investigator might be another "Dexter," ie, a serial killer who is directing his murders at "bad" people. Like Dexter, he has an occupation in line with his kill methods.

Isaak wanted out. His lover Victor was dead, he was kicked out of the brotherhood and if he hadn't been shot when he did, he would have been killed eventually while in hiding.

I wasn't thrilled with the way Isaak went out. There was no time to get him to the doctor but there was to get him to the boat and out onto the ocean? Still, I sort of liked the mutual respect they came to have for each other, and the season's darn good overall...

I didn't mind Isaak's exit, but acknowledge it wasn't a terribly strong send-off for him. Agree that the arsonist storyline feels tacked on -- filler for the remaining few episodes.

In a way, I'm kind of rooting for Dexter and Hannah. Out of everyone that Dex has been involved with, she's the one that he's has the biggest connection with. I'd like to see him have some happiness....although it's probably not destined with her as these guest stars are usually 1 and done.
Yeah I wish the Dexter-Issak story arc would have played out a little longer, but I was satisfied with the end result and how they ended up developing a mutual respect for one another. I assume Dex threw his body overboard so he could be with Victor. Ray Stevenson was a great character this season.
So now we have the arsonist, George-Quinn, Hannah, and La Guerta investigating the Bay Harbor Butcher as the lingering storylines for these final 3 episodes.
Overall, through 9 episodes, I'm alot more pleased with this season than last.

I'm glad the former captain realized it was LaGuerta, no Debra, who burned him, and I like the angle they're working getting him back into the mix.

I did chuckle at the exchange with Deb afterwards, along the lines of:
"Should I expect a call?"
"No, it's outside the district"
"Phew"
Oh Deb, you've come so far.

I don't think Hannah is all that thrilled with the "in touch with his feelings" Dexter. I smell a cup of special tea coming his way.

The kill in broad daylight was ridiculous.
Odd that Isaak went out that way instead of at the hands of Dexter, but it does get repetitive that every season there's a main baddy and Dexter takes him out. Good to change things up. I get the feeling Deb will take out Hannah and not in the legal cop-duty manner either.
