Pretty good I think so far.

Although Renner has barely been on.

Not sure if the beginning was supposed to be Renner pretending to play piano or really playing
because there was no sound initially. And he kept asking if anyone could hear the piano or not.

Avengers skit nailed it.

That one guys always looks like actors filming scenes in a cinarama movie like How the West Was Won.
Always looks in front of the other actor at the cue cards, doesn't even try to lok at the other actors.

Wow, the opening was brutal. Even if the piano was working the first time, it isn't funny.

Kinda surprised Seth Meyers didn't mention anything about Hostess during the news segment.

Maybe I am too hard on the show for running so many recurring sketches. There was a lot of new material tonight, and most of it was terrible. Then again, the recurring Californians sketch was probably the worst one of those they have ever done as well. I did like the Avengers though, but hated everything else, and really hated the idiotic drone cartoon. I can scarcely believe that spending time posting in an internet forum actually seems worthwhile when I consider that some people used part of their precious time on earth to create that.

The book reading was hilarious.

The monologue was awful. You know it's bad when the only remotely funny thing was when the piano didn't work.

Avengers was good.

The Californians is fucking terrible. It's one unfunny gag that never stops. Whoever writes the fucking thing must have a lot of pull.

That drone cartoon was shit. It was like some unfunny thing on the Cartoon Network. And I was sort of excited because I thought TV Funhouse was back.

I like it, and I'm a pretty harsh critic of the show. I always FFW the Californians so I enjoyed most of the ep.

Yeah, he actually has a good voice but it just wasn't funny. The whole show just wasn't funny as the material has been subpar.

Somebody on the writing staff must love Homeland. Third show in a row with a joke about it.

The Californians was hilarious the first time they did it. Now it's just boring, and they make it way too long.

Loved the gun standoff sketch. The Avengers was also funny. Gov. Christie did a good job.

Is Cecily Strong the new Wiig? You know when she does a sketch it is going to suck.

Jay Pharoah did a good Katt Williams impersonation though don't understand why people like Katt since his voice is so annoying and he is not really that funny.

One critic at tv.com did not like the show

Oye. I watch SNL 'just because'. This episode hardly had anything going for it.

The Bruno Mars one was lifeless too. Louis CK and Seth McFarlane are probably my favorite from this season.

Really? Varying quality of each actual sketch aside, I think she's been really good with everything she's been given. She hasn't been nearly as annoying as Wiig, and she's also pretty hot.

So far I have not been that impressed with Cecily Strong. She can do all kinds of roles but nothing which is really funny.

Is the end near for Kenan?

Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels is teaming with another one of his featured performers for a scripted comedy set up at NBC.

Kenan Thompson, who has been with the sketch comedy series since 2003, is attached to write, star in and executive produce an untitled comedy, which has received a script commitment from the network.

The single-camera comedy would star Thompson as Kenan Monroe, a guy who gives up his New York life and moves to his in-laws' house in the suburbs, where he must contend with three generations of problems.

Michaels will executive produce through his Broadway Video banner and Universal Television, marking the second project he has set up this development season. NBC in August gave script orders to an untitled brothers comedy from SNL's Seth Meyers and his younger brother, Josh Meyers (MadTV). That project, will be penned by the siblings, also hails from Michaels' Broadway Video and Universal TV.
