Re: The Big Bang Theory -- "The 43 Peculiarity" -- 11/15/12
It was obvious the 43 would end up being something trivial, but I loved Sheldon's trick with the portal to another dimension, and Raj & Howard's reaction to it.
Leonard was funny with his feeble attempts to warn off the other guy, and I have to admit that my blood ran cold for a second when he turned around and saw Penny at the top of the stairs. Sucks to get caught like that.

The wormhole that Sheldon opened really scared me because I've always been afraid that the show would start doing stupid things like robot doubles or shrink rays. I was relieved when it was revealed Sheldon was just fucking with Howard and Raj.

I was sure that they were going to recycle the "he's a friend and becomes a bf" thing from several sitcoms of the past, but was gladly surprised when Penny said the "L" word.
Yeah, they still can do it, but it would be a crime after that.

I wish the shorter official version had shown all the dances. I really liked it.

Great episode! It was a reminder of how good the show used to be before they got off track by adding the other two girls and the comic book guy. I wish they could get back to the original premise of the show.

Last night's episode was the show's most-watched ever.

I just updated the vid above with a slightly different version. Includes some other camera angles.

I like it better when it focuses on the original cast and has them interacting with the rest of the world. I don't mind Amy and Bernadette making an appearance for a minute, but giving them equal screen time to the rest makes it feel too much like a nerdy, depressing Friends wannabe.
I very much like Alex. The little screen time she has is just right, and I liked the scene with her and Leonard this episode. Hope she stays a recurring character. I like her better than Penny too. Although I couldn't see it before, Penny telling Leonard that, in that way, makes them seem like a plausible match. Less Wesley Crusher and comicbook guy. They're okay, but I feel like they appear too much.
When Sheldon opened up the parallel dimension portal I was screaming and laughing along with Howard and Raj. Until he got attacked by the plastic thing. Then I knew it was going to be fake. I know it would have ruined the show to start bringing in fantasy but that would have been pretty funny if it turned out to be real, or atleast on a final episode. Like Night Court.
Best show of the season so far.

I laughed at Sheldon's demonstration of a hypnotized woman performing sexual acts while thinking she's a chicken pecking for corn. I didn't expect to see/hear Sheldon allude to something sexual like that. Looks like Sheldon finally read the book Penny said she bought him a few seasons back.

So, in the flash mob video, is Sheldon just staying in character the whole video or did Jim just not want to get in to this/realize he's a shitty dancer?
(Because when you think of it as staying in character, it's kinda funny.)

Amy and Bernadette are fine additions to the show if you ask me. I don't care for Stuart though.
