Wow. This episode was great. I laughed out load throughout the entire thing. The prank Sheldon played on the guys was priceless.

That's what I got out of that scene. The others around him (including the audience) got it except for him. That would be more in line with the character. Clueless in that regard as usual.

He's in character and says "Banzinga" after everyone takes their places at the end.
