this episode was insane - it was a mixture of Suckerpunch, Island of Lost Souls, Fire in the Sky, The Covent, Insidious (the good parts). The death of the mexican was shocking and utterly graphic.

That episode was wilder than most of the movies I watched for the October Horror Movie Challenge. What a lot of fun that was.

Possessed Lily Rabe is made of win. Hope the demon doesn't jump bodies anytime soon.

Was that an alien that confronted Sister Jude in the hallway?

They certainly threw a lot of different stuff into this episode, though the story is starting to spin its wheels. They have the atmosphere down, but I am not being entertained yet as much as season one. I understood the necessity of bringing back Jessica Lange, but she doesn't fit the role of Sister Jude nearly as well as she performed for Constance. There will be no Emmy this year for her.

Re: American Horror Story: Asylum -- "Nor'easter" -- 10/31/12

Wow, totally opposite here. I think Lange is doing a better job this season than last. Her drunken introduction to the movie was incredible. Loving this ride!

Four things:
-Like Giles mention, that knife to the throat was a big "OH SHIT" moment
-Nuns w stockings and garters. Damn.
-"Bend over and spread your cheeks!"
-Poor Chloe.

Liked the Bloodyface opening.

BTW, I've read posts from here and other boards complaining that AHS borrows plots and scenes from other horror movies. Didn't anyone catch from last season that that is AHS forte?

Re: American Horror Story: Asylum -- "Nor'easter" -- 10/31/12

I'm curious if the plan is to find a new way to mutilate Adam Levine in every episode. His arm was torn off in episode one, he was seemingly stabbed to death in episode two, but apparently it was only a flesh wound since he recovered, only to get shot in episode three.

I fully expect the bullet to have hit a non-vital organ so he can be alive and be further tortured in episode four.

Finally watched this episode last night. Yeah, it was awesome!

And yeah, Jessica Lange has been top notch.

Bizarre episode -- and that's saying something. Agree that Lange has been awesome this season.

I wonder if the demon is going to jump from body to body throughout the season giving us evil, or even more evil versions of several characters.

Ha! Surprised to see Levine hop up and kick some ass. Gotta be the craziest show on tv. Love it!

this show is a bit too all over the place for me this season... I'm interested in all of the angles save for the alien one, but man, it's so schizophrenic.

Re: American Horror Story: Asylum -- "Nor'easter" -- 10/31/12

I just watched the episode and I am just not understanding the praise for this show. It's like the writers had a dozen different ideas, couldn't decide on a decent one or two and just decided to throw everything in the pot to see if it could mix. I personally don't think it does and I just find the whole thing silly and honestly dull to watch.

While watching this episode, I just sat there thinking about what I should watch next or what I could be watching which is not a good sign. I think I am going to throw in the towel. Too many other good shows to watch. Some shows I may not like but can at least understand the praise. This is one that I simply do not see what people are raving about.

I'm enjoying it, but also agree that it needs to be a little more tight. Its like a spider on its back with the legs swinging around wildly... lots to digest

I totally agree with this. I found last season's story so much more interesting from the get go and loved the entire arc. This season just seems to be a whole bunch of random bizarre shock value type events/scenes in the asylum. I feel as of right now there is no story or plot. Maybe eventually we'll get to some but right now to me nothing is happening.

I'm pretty much just laughing through the episodes right now since everything is so over the top. Especially James Cromwell. He's ridiculous in here. His phrases and repetitive one liners are laughable. All I can hear from his grimacing face is "whore...Whore...WHORE!"

I do not have a hard time believing that this show is not for everyone. This definitely lands in "love it or hate it" territory. Maybe its just not for you.

Yeah, opinions.

I'm not a big fan of horror movies, I mean I like some and stuff, but don't know any trivia about them.

But I really like this show. I'm 100% in the whole 42 minutes or so and most of the time I'm with a smile in my face.

Re: American Horror Story: Asylum -- "Nor'easter" -- 10/31/12

Crazy episode last week. They threw everything but the kitchen sink.

at Adam Levine getting up after getting stabbed and previously getting his arm ripped off. It looked like he got shot in the head this time around.

So what is James Cromwell's deal? Does he not have a penis or is it deformed? at Chloe making fun of him which pissed him off. I was shocked at the end when he amputated her legs.

Re: American Horror Story: Asylum -- "Nor'easter" -- 10/31/12

The fact that they have thrown every single horror device into one show is the reason it's awesome. It's on purpose. Apparently, Cromwell is going to have his Nazi past exposed soon too.

Nothing better than drunken and possessed nuns, by the way.
