CBS scrapping tonights shows. 10/29/2012

I saw this tweet from CBS:

 at the panic. Probably worried about power-loss to the NE and it effecting ratings. Or the local affiliates in the northeast want to continue their end-of-the-world local panic coverage into primetime. rotfl

I understand that the media is afraid if they don't warn people and then it ends up super bad and people die that they'll get sued in our current sue happy country

but they've gone beyond warning to fear mongering

And snowmageddon season is just around the corner. Every winter storm is a potential snowpocalypse. It has become a point of ridicule here in Minnesota.

They're just trying to avoid lost ratings due to power outages, makes sense.

I hope Tivo somehow catches it when tonight's scheduled episodes actually air. I don't record repeats and my Tivo now thinks I have already seen these shows.

Any idea when they're going to broadcast the skipped shows?

They already broadcast yesterday's shows on a sister channel. Hopefully, Hulu has all the shows up today.

They did the same thing with shows on CW as well last night.

I think that what was broadcast on alternate channels were all repeats.

I tuned in halfway through 2 Broke Girls and was thought one of the very crass jokes sounded familiar, but didn't think twice about it since most of the crass jokes sound familiar.

Hulu carries CBS shows? Since when?

They don't. CBS shows only appear on their website.

What? I don't even know what that means. As far as I can tell yesterday's episode of Hawaii 5-0 was never broadcast by the local CBS affiliate and isn't scheduled to be broadcast.

Is there any plan for the missed episodes yet? From the previews, the episode of H 5-0 looked good.

Crap. I forgot that Hulu doesn't carry CBS shows.

When I was watching CBS, one of the news reporters announced that the regularly scheduled shows would air on one of their sister stations while CBS covered the storm.

From what I read, they will air next week.

Thanks. Does that mean they'll be one week back for the rest of the season?

Nah, the shows eventually have to take some breaks in the Winter and Spring. It's 1 less week without a break.

Why not cancel all the network programming for this week?

I thought the East Coast is all that matters in ratings and sports coverage and I bet some Easterners might not be happy if they are a week behind on Dancing with the Stars.

Every time I glance at this thread's title I momentarily read it as "CBS crapping on tonight's shows" and I think, "Hey, that's our job."
