I really like the idea of them using what they've learned in past Fringe cases to start fighting back with The Observers, some full-circle awesomeness. Poor Etta...

Honestly, I think this episode really pushed this show to my favorite of all-time. I have complete and total faith in the writers...they've really delivered consistently throughout this show's run. Not to mention, the short season is really making the story line nice and tight.

Amazing episode. I'm gutted. I really liked Etta. This is shaping up to be the best final season of any series. It was a sweet moment seeing Broyles reunite with the team as well.

I have a feeling that the thing that they are on a scavenger hunt for is going to be a time machine, and it will be used to halt the Observer invasion of 2015 and prevent that future from happening.

The final scenes will be set in 2015, with Peter, Olivia, and young Etta in the park, looking forward to a bright and Observer-free future.

Either that or her death serves a purpose, her death creating the series of events leading to defeating the Observers. Hate to think it was useless.

Whoa!

I was afraid they were going to kill Broyles, or that he would sacrifice himself. That reunion scene was really touching.

I almost cried at the end.

Watch out for Peter next week!!!

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Poor Etta. Sucks that Peter and Olivia finally get reunited with her for a short time and then she's gone.

That's actually a really good theory.

OK, I didn't see that coming. I like the time machine theory because I really want a happy ending for these characters.

I was thinking their plan would prevent the invasion and this future even before this episode, but this sort of makes that the obvious conclusion, so now I'm thinking maybe we won't get a happy ending and the plan
Spoiler:
erases the observers altogether which would basically erase the whole series. If Bell was in on it there has to be something sinister going on. And we know Walter can be ruthless if he's in the right state of mind. And September knows how to erase people from time.
But that might be too mean to do to the fans of this show.

Amazing episode. I'm so glad the show is going out with a bang.

Great scenes with Broyles, and I was shocked that
Spoiler:
they killed Etta.

That empty look on Peter's face.... I'm going to miss the hell out of this show.

You mean like a show where a kid is holding a snow globe with a hospital in it? That still grates with me.

That was really just a BS move out of left field. My ending would still be within the realm of the show's narrative. Actually, so would
Spoiler:
Walter still being in the asylum this whole time
holding a snow globe. ;)

Re: Fringe -- "The Bullet that Saved the World" -- 10/26/12

The likeliest end will be some sort of time travel that removes the observers out of our universe and timeline, but somehow one or two of the major characters are also removed from it, like Peter.

This was an amazing episode and I was stunned they killed that character off so quickly. I never would have imagined a major character dying so soon in the final season.

Re: Fringe -- "The Bullet that Saved the World" -- 10/26/12

I still think it will have something to do with the air. the only reason why I think that is in the first couple of episodes they played up the machines that the observers built that I think put more C02 in the air. then the recorders that were affected in the woods. I would like to see something like that. More of a we fought and won then a go back to change the outcome which has been done sadly.

That's a REALLY good theory - it makes enough sense that I'd be surprised if they managed to write it any other way. Even if it's not, I have very little doubt that they WILL somehow manage to bring back Etta.

I think the whole series will have come from the mind of John Scott. Olivia will have thought they were real experiences when she went into his mind using the water tank.

Re: Fringe -- "The Bullet that Saved the World" -- 10/26/12

All I know is that the Observers better damn well hope that Walter doesn't have any pliers or a blowtorch in his lab because Peter is a little angry. I don't think they are going to like him when he's angry.
