Synopsis:

"Open House of Horrors" - Claire has overdone it in Halloweens past and the neighbors definitely don't share her enthusiasm, so this year she's being forced to tone it down and keep it "kid-friendly," and Phil has an idea to hold an open house on Halloween night. Meanwhile, Mitch and Cam host a costume party while contending with Lily wondering who her real mom is, and Gloria's pregnancy hormones are on overdrive, making her even more hotheaded than usual, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

For a show that depends heavily on quick one-line zingers, it's surprise to see how they don't realize a joke that required 2 to 3 segments to deliver is not funny. It tool several setup and segment just for Claire to scare Phil and it wasn't even that clever. Really......?

"Medieval Knievel" got the biggest laugh from me.

I got my wife into Modern Family midway through last season and we recently started watching the first season for her. Last night we watched either episode 5 or 6 and Phil is talking about Hall & Oates and mentions the exact same song as in this episode, listing it as his favorite. Pretty good continuity
