I was horrified to see that fast forward collecting dead rats. Bubonic plague still exists around the world, and especially in the 3rd world, and is transmitted by the fleas on the rats. While the plague isn't that common anymore, carrying around a sack of dead rats for a few hours is just asking for trouble.

It's somewhat curable now with antibiotics, but I can't fathom how anyone thought it was a good idea to potentially expose someone to that. It's not a matter of being squeamish, it's an insanely stupid health risk.

I think it's safe to assume that the contestants are all required to have immunizations before the race to protect them from anything they might encounter during the race.

Since the rats they were collecting had been pre-caught for this challenge, I'm guessing (hoping?) they were thoroughly disinfected before rockers collected them.

If you thought this was gross, I'm guessing you missed the "Temple of the Rats" challenge they did in India several years ago. That one had them walking through a building full of live rats to pick up a clue.

Based on tonight's episode, the editors agree with you.

That's Big Brother editing they did tonight.

I'm really going to have a hard time watching while they're still around. The voices are just soooo annoying.

Come on twinny you can do it twinny!!! Jesus, if that was the condensed version I can't imagine how obnoxious that would have been for however long that task took.

I haven't been annoyed by the twins until this episode. I was surprised that they chose the blacksmith challenge, but they did just fine on it. Annoying or not, they're actually a very strong team.

I watched this episode right before bed. Rookie mistake. I was hearing "go twinny" in my sleep the whole night. Fuck.

'You spread, I'll pound'
'Ok, pound away'

Best clip in years.

 That was great.

I can't believe so many teams passed on the Fast Forward. Go Team Metal

I'm happy that the monster truckers weren't eliminated. They're not that strong of a team but they did well on the challenges and overcame two bad "drivers".

Hated the monster truckers last night. Pure Ugly Americanism there with the "you lost me one million dollars" crap. Dude, you're on a frickin' game show travelling the world, currently in an extremely impoverished country where the average person (who doesn't read or speak English as well as you) makes in a year what you probably make in a few days. Have some perspective.

I hate their rolling luggage too. Has anyone ever done this before?

I'm surprised everybody hasn't started using those roller back packs already.

I'm surprised but the Chippendales are my favorite team by far. I'm definately rooting for them. Hate the twins and the truckers. Didn't care for the "superfans" Everyone else is just ok.

I really think it would slow down teams because it is heavier and you fit less things. It's probably also slower to drag them around third world countries instead of carrying them on your back. Plus with the running around it could be easy to lose a wheel.

not if you get a good brand with rollerskates wheel:

for those big ass backpacking pack, don't the racers need to check in those bags, since most backpacking bags are not carrying size friendly. Maybe it's different for international fly instead of domestic.

Yeah, like he's the first person to ever yell at a cab driver on this show -rolleyes-

The "Ugly American" thing has always sort of been in the background of the show. Having a bunch of yuppies trying to win a milion dollars running around third world shitholes and stepping over nearly naked children who drink raw sewage has always been a part of the show.

When did I say he was the first? There have been plenty of assholes on this show. Kendra's "they keep breeding and breeding" comment while in Ethiopia is probably the worst I've heard.

You can have a positive attitude towards your locale (see The Chippendales) or you can berate your driver when he probably didn't understand your clue in the first place. Oh boo hoo, Mr. Monster Truck could have lost. Mr. Bengali Taxi Driver went home with the $2US that he made that day. I wish more contestants had fun instead of losing their shit.
