Mars is talented it's too bad it doesn't come through in his music. His music just does nothing for me. I tried watching him perform both of his songs and I couldn't take more than a minute of them. His music sucks.

I'm curious if some of the Pandora sketch was unscripted, because at least once (Louis Armstrong) Bruno seemed genuinely surprised at the name thrown at him and broke character with a laugh.

The kid can sing, but his pop song productions are pretty bad.

Jay Pharoah continues to be the most overrated SNL performer on the internets. I honestly think his Obama is much worse than Fred's and he didnt add anything to any other sketch all night.

Bruno Mars is talented but no JT.

I loved the Sad Mouse sketch. I thought it was funny and had a heart.

100% correct. His Obama is not just inferior to Armisen, it is terrible in general. Asisde from being a black dude I see nothing else that qualifies him to do Obama.

That is gonna be awesome.

Although I thought Bruno Mars did one of the best jobs hosting in recent years.

I actually enjoyed this episode.

Outside of his Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, and Denzel Washington impressions, I don't see anything in him either. Armisen was great as Obama, there was no need to change it.

I'm 36. I don't listen to music on the radio, ever. I listen to talk and sports if I'm listening to radio, and I have an iPod if I'm out and feel the need for music. I haven't purposely listened to FM radio for nearly 4 years. AM only.

So I was being sincere when I asked my question. Honestly, I've heard about 1 minute of Call Me Maybe, and that was only recently.

As for this song by Fun., I've probably heard it on a show or commercial or something, but unless it's a song that stands out for me, I'm not going to do research on it to find out who sings it or whatever.

OK, I've certainly heard that song by Fun. But again, it was in a commercial.

Then you kind of answered your own question -- there's no reason you should know who Fun. is because you've intentionally unplugged yourself from current music. But I don't know why you'd expect to know Fun. under those circumstances.

Re: SNL - 10/20/12 - H: Bruno Mars - MG: Bruno Mars

Have you heard of this up-and-comer named Adele?
LOL Some guy a couple of years ago never heard of U2 now that is not explainable.

Maybe Bruno did some impressions or jokes backstage during his last SNL appearance and they decided to let him host a show?

I think this was the 2nd year in a row Tom Hanks stopped by to do some sketches though he was never mentioned as a surprise guest.

Wonder if Louis CK will play it safe or maybe go off script?
