Nikita -- Season Premiere -- "3.0" -- 10/19/12

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Ryan (Noah Bean) takes charge of Division with Nikita (Maggie Q) by his side. Their first mission under the new regime is to bring in "The Dirty Thirty," the rogue agents who failed to respond to the Division recall after Percy was killed. Unfortunately, their first mission doesn't go as planned and Michael (Shane West) is arrested, forcing Nikita to change gears and hatch an escape plan for him. Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) reprises her alter ego, the spoiled Russian princess Alexandra Udinov, in a very unique way as part of the plan to spring Michael. Meanwhile, Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) struggles to maintain a working relationship with Sonya (guest star Lyndie Greenwood), despite his growing attraction to her. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Craig Silverstein (#301).

22 episode 3rd season

Noah Bean (Ryan) is now a series regular.

I wish they had left Supernatural on Fridays and moved Nikita to Wednesdays. the one two punch of this and Arrow would have been great.

Not only that, but it would get better ratings. Nikita has a terrible lead-in with America's Next Top Model.

Re: Nikita -- Season Premiere -- "3.0" -- 10/19/12

Good start to the season. It's almost like a completely different show now. In a way it felt like I was watching Mission Impossible.

Setting the episode in Hong Kong was cool. I appreciate when shows at least attempt to give it more of an International feel. Although they just can't seem to get minor technical details right. For example the cars in HK have steering wheels on the other side.

at Alex acting like a Diva in the Hong Kong Police station. and man did she look hot or what?

I liked how she didn't even hesitate to shoot the assassin in the head.

Michael proposing to Nikita at the end was a nice moment.

Of course the ratings were God awful. I knew putting this after Top Model was a really bad idea.

"You had me at 'just give me the damn Glock!'"

Lots of good moments: Nikita lowering through the sunroof of the secret service guy, Alex playing diva, Michael going back for the ring.

Ryan's going to have his hands full trying to control this bunch.

This show is pretty much ratings proof at this point. It's almost certain this will get a 4th season due to it being so close to syndication numbers.

Interesting start to the season, kinda chuckled at the new opening, as it sounded a bit like another famous TV opening. That being said, I can't wait for the episode where Dr. Sam Beckett leaps into Nikita and says "Oh boy."

Yes, Hong Kong vehicles are like Japanese and UK cars with steering wheels on the right side. But since this was shot in Toronto they most likely just worked with what is readily available and hoped that the average viewers would not notice...

A bit of an unrelated question, but why do so many shows still shoots in Canada? The US dollar is worth less than the Canadian dollars now, so is there even the economic incentives to film over there or is it just out of habit?

Not a bad series, but looks do indeed kill. I'm wondering when Maggie Q just drops dead from not eating.

Well, she gets no protein. Watched the season 2 BD and there's a featurette about her and she's a Vegetarian (leafs and greens and tofu) Plus, she works out like a maniac.

I don't care for the scrawny look, but she has a small frame and somehow pulls it off - like Gabrielle Anwar on "Burn Notice". But being a vegetarian is no excuse for not having enough protein.

I was happy to see the premiere was waiting for me on the Tivo this weekend.

I missed me some Lyndsy Fonseca.

Gabrielle Anwar does not pull it off. I want to throw food at the tv when she's on.

Re: Nikita -- Season Premiere -- "3.0" -- 10/19/12

Good solid season premiere and I like the new dynamic of the show. I hope they utilize the fact that Nikita isn't a "lone wolf" operative anymore and take advantage of the fact that she's part of the new Division. I'd love to see an episode or two where she and/or Michael are training some new Division agents out in the field or something like that.
