Synopsis:

Wendi McLendon-Covey ("Bridesmaid") and Michaela Watkins ("Saturday Night Live") Guest Star

"Schooled" - The day has arrived for Phil and Claire to drop Haley off at college, which is a difficult moment for any parent, but it's made worse when they manage to really embarrass Haley. Meanwhile, Manny forces Jay and Gloria to take a baby class they humor him and go, but end up being a bit of a disruption; and Mitch and Cam drop Lily off for the first day of kindergarten, but when she gets into a tussle with another little boy, they end up having a meeting with the boy's confrontational lesbian parents, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Synopsis for episode 2:

"Snip" - Phil and Claire have a five-year plan, and that's to vacation and enjoy life once Luke leaves for college. In order to keep all that on track, Phil is going in for a vasectomy. Meanwhile, Jay and Gloria disagree about whether or not to find out the sex of the baby; Gloria is in denial about needing maternity clothes; and now that Lily's in kindergarten, Mitchell tries to gently steer Cameron towards a part-time job to occupy all his extra time, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Re: Modern Family -- "Schooled/Snip" -- 10/10/12

How much for a copy of Phil'soshpy? I would definitely buy one.

I don't know if it's possible to pick a favorite moment.

My only hope is that Jay and Gloria's child goes through a rapid age progression and is old enough in a season or two to whoop Manny's ass and make him grow up. The cute has finally worn off his act. (At least lately.)

Luke busting Lily on the square root of his baked potato (and response to Cam & Mitch) was amazing!

Clemmy looks like she lost some weight. I always found her attractive, but she looked really good in this.

Two great episodes. Especially liked Jay's quips in the parenting class.

Really dug these two episodes. Lot's of good stuff. I loved threading of Phil's-osophy.

Alex: "Don't you have a class to go fail?"
Haley: "Don't you have a raven to go tame?"

The first episode was pure gold. It's rare that Cam and Mitchell are the funniest part of an episode. Loved the back and forth between Cam and the lesbian.

Fantastic episodes. I've felt that the show had fallen off a little bit from the first couple seasons but these were classics.

Awesome episodes. Liked the ending of Schooled with Haley calling her parents. Loved Phil sitting on the bench: "Not a real man"! Reminded me a lot of Arrested Development.

Oh and I'm disappointed there is no gif of Gloria's shirt busting open.

Re: Modern Family -- "Schooled/Snip" -- 10/10/12

Wow, those were two great episodes. I haven't laughed out loud that much in a long time.

Aside from the requisite comedic exaggerations (roomie ass grab, condoms) the scene of dropping Haley off at college was almost a carbon copy of when we dropped our daughter off freshman year. The show did a spot-on re-creation....

I loved the "not a real man" on the bus stop bench bit, but they should have made that much more subtle.

Well, this isn't Arrested Development

Very funny episodes. The banter between the guys and the lesbians was great.

Awesome episodes. I loved every subplot, even Cam and Mitchell squabbling.
