The Simpsons -- "Treehouse of Horror XXIII" -- 10/07/12

"Treehouse of Horror XXIII"

Spoiler:
In "The Greatest Story Ever Holed," the first of three spine-chilling stories, the Springfield Subatomic Supercollider creates a black hole that terrorizes the city, sucking up everything in its path. Then, in "UNnormal Activity" the Simpsons install cameras all over the house when things start to go bump in the night and Marge discovers it may have to do with an unholy pact she made some years prior. In the final thrilling tale, "Bart & Homer's Excellent Adventure," Bart travels to 1974 to buy a comic book at cover price but inadvertently disrupts Homer and Marge's courtship, leading Marge to end up with Artie Ziff (guest voice Jon Lovitz) in the all-new "Treehouse of Horror XXIII" episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Oct. 7 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (SI-2317) (TV-PG D, L, S, V)

Voice Cast: Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson; Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson; Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson and Nelson; Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson; Harry Shearer as Skinner; Pamela Hayden as Milhouse and Jimbo; Tress MacNeille as Dolph

Guest Voice Cast: Jon Lovitz as Artie Ziff

I am so happy to see this airing tonight instead of after the MLB playoffs.

Were the options either air it now or wait until after Halloween?

Maybe I've been out of touch for awhile, but I recall them showing these AFTER Halloween. Ever since they first started.

FOX wanted to spike the ratings for November sweeps. Now I don't know what is FOX's game plan.

November, February and May sweeps no longer really exist.

Wow, for once The Simpsons copied an episode of Family Guy.

I liked the last story the best, even though it kind of fell apart at the end. I thought the idea was strong enough to sustain an entire episode of the show.

Yup, third one was the best one. It was the only one I found entertaining. The other two were just kinda there and weren't really that good or the idea wasn't that interesting.

nice to see this in October! I'd rather have this on October 7th, than November 10th.

fun episode. The paranormal activity one was funny.

For some reason, I thought using James Bond posters to show the passage of time (backwards) was a really funny conceit.
