If ham-fisted melodrama and cliche-ridden dialogue is the goal, this show is without question a complete success. Someone should just plant a bomb in the writer's room and start from scratch.

On the plus side, there's a lot of room for improvement.

I expect last week's excellent ratings to decline precipitously.

The show has it's moments but I agree there are areas where it gets cheesy and been there done that type of thing. I like the show overall and will continue watching this season to see what happens. Next week looks good so we will see if the support is there or not for the show to last.

Re: Revolution -- "Chained Heat" -- 9/24/12

I watched about 30 minutes last night before I had to go to sleep.

at the opening scene with Billy Burke and C. Thomas Howell. That was great for how cheesey it was.

As I said in the 1st thread, unless they clearly show Elizabeth Mitchell dying in one of these flashbacks, I doubt she's dead. You don't cast someone like her as a regular to only appear in a couple minutes of flashbacks per week. I'm glad they recast the actress from Andrea Roth (Mrs. Tommy Gavin) to her. Roth is too old and plastered looking.

They should lose the cheesey opening voice over to explain how the power went out. I don't need that re-inforced every week.

Another show that I want to love...but it's not looking good so far. Every character is so seemingly over-the-top evil or good. Teenagers acting like idiots of course (not to suggest most teens aren't idiots, but I don't need to see it on my TV). At least it seems like they're progressing things at a decent rate so far.

Same problem I had with Terra Nova -- incredibly irritating idiot teens. When she held her uncle back from killing that guy I knew it would come back to bite him in the ass. No chance she gets killed sometime soon is there? The show would be enormously more watchable without her character.

9.3M viewers and 3.5. It actually won the timeslot against H50 and Castle. Castle had more total viewers though.

"Chained Heat"

One woman does not equate a women in prison movie.

Re: Revolution -- "Chained Heat" -- 9/24/12

Charlie wouldn't let Miles kill C Thomas Howell, but she had no problem with miles locking him up in a boxcar. It turns out that C Thomas Howell broke out, but how did Charlie know that was going to happen?

Starving to death slowly in a locked up train car is not as inhumane as killing someone quickly with a sword.

Lol! I had the same thought.

Yeah, I the writers are not the best, they wanted to show a big contrast, to show some redemption at the end of but it was too forced. Still I'm staying for the long run.

The point could have been made without making her uncle look like a dumbass by having her upset by him killing the guy. It's difficult to have any respect for him if he's going to let her make the calls like that.

If you watch the rest of the episode, you'll see that the mom is, indeed, alive.

I wasn't impressed with the second episode and I don't really care about anyone or what happens. I think I'm out so I can free up some time for other shows in the pipeline.

Wow, this show won it's time slot again. It crushed Hawaii Five-O. It beat Castle (though Castle had more overall viewers)

Revolution 3.5
Castle 2.5
Hawaii Five-O 1.9

CBS finishing 3rd? Wow. I didn't expect that.

On the one hand the typical wimp-out of allowing the bad guy to live was in evidence. On the other hand they did acknowledge the stupidity of that move and snap the guy's neck on network TV. I'm still not sold but I like that they're willing to play hardball.

It's time for the Korean H50 cast members to go Gangham style.
