Pretty decent series finale. Nice to see Justin Chatwin back. Surprised there was no mention of Celia at all. Liked Rilo Kiley at the end....glad this is done.

Re: Weeds -- 1 Hour Series Finale -- "It's Time" -- 9/16/12

Didn't hate it, but it was pretty dumb. For about the past 3 seasons the only ending I'd have been happy with is Nancy getting offed. The Doug and Shane stories were particularly stupid. Would've been nice to see Heylia one more time (and her putting down Nancy would have been great).

I don't even remember, what did happen to Celia?

Last thing I remember about Celia is she looked like a Puerto Rican with bad makeup and braids? And was a lesbian?

Re: Weeds -- 1 Hour Series Finale -- "It's Time" -- 9/16/12

I thought it was as good as it could have been. Going into the episode I knew the writers were unable to get Celia and Haylia (spelling?) to return to the series, so I was actually surprised with how much I enjoyed the final episode without those expectations. I thought the time jump was pretty much a cop-out as far as getting the characters to a place were they would be creatively interesting again - but it really did allow for more fluidity to the series. Also it put a pretty definitive ending on the series (unless Showtime decides to give Doug his own show).

Much like the last two seasons of the show I didn't hate it, but I wasn't over the moon about it either.

Celia's daughter becoming Bruce and Justin Chatwin were hilarious moments though IMO.

This series had a lot of stumbles in the last few years--eight seasons is just too much for a show like that. But I always found something to laugh at, thought the actors did a good job. One should also remember how important this show was for Showtime, it was a pioneer.

This.

It really isn't worth spending any more time extrapolating on this thought. At least it ended... finally.

Couple things I laughed at in the episode.

The sweet iPhone thing they all had. Makes iPhone 5 look hella lame.
Shane's porn mustache.
Isabelle getting a sex change.

Glad it's done.

"It's Long Overdue" seems like a more apt title.

I pretty much agree with this. I thought the final episode was a lot better than I was expecting but felt the flash-forward in time was a bit of a cop out. The Shane storyline was particularly irritating, but that's par for the course with his character. It was fun seeing Natasha Lyonne, though.

I did really like the final scene of the show. The sharing of a joint seems a very fitting way to end the series, and there is a certain poetic quality to a group of people gathered together and smoking.

Wasn't that the first time Nancy had smoked on the show?

Re: Weeds -- 1 Hour Series Finale -- "It's Time" -- 9/16/12

The whole episode was somewhere between awful and meh.

The jump in time was kind of awkward. Was it 5 years they jumped?
The 3 year bump least season was weird on Shane who looked so young... and now they jump another 5 years and give him a 70's porn moustache to try and make him look 25+ when in fact he's only 18.

It was lame how they killed off another husband of Nancy. They could've just kept her single, I think it would've felt right.

I still don't get why deaf chick was mad at Nancy.

Doug's religious think was pretty stupid. Couldn't they have him doing something else? A successful stoke broker or something - like we had a glimpse of last season.

I couldn't tell if Andy decided to stay or not at the end with his/Nancy's reaction - but I'm guessing not.

I did like the final scene... the song felt right and so was having the 5 major characters there.
I don't know exactly what they were thinking/laughing about, but I have to believe it had to do with remembering all the shit they've gone through - because that's what I was thinking... and it was A LOT of shit to get to where they were at that point.

As crappy as the show was the last 4 or 5 seasons, the final scene did make me feel sad - which is weakness I have when it comes to series finales I admit.

AMEN it's over!

No, she smoked with Conrad in the grow house in like season 2 or something.

Well...

I'm not sure how I feel about them jumping what, 10 years into the future? 5? 7? I couldn't pinpoint it. All I know is that last episode Stevie was a kindergartner at most. Seems odd to jump that far into the future. Also don't get why they got rid of the rabbi/Nancy's new husband. I didn't even catch what happened to him.

Shane looked absolutely ridiculous with that mustache. Can't believe he's been hanging out with his crazy ex boss for years now.

The Doug "cult leader" thing was also ridiculous, but the kidnapping scenes made me laugh. Doug made me laugh more than any character on this show.

Anyway while I agree the show went on too long, I never got to the point where I was forcing myself through episodes. I thought it was a funny, at times clever, and had a great cast. A good show overall.

Re: Weeds -- 1 Hour Series Finale -- "It's Time" -- 9/16/12

Stevie had to be 13 (age for Bar Mitzvah) and I think he was around 5 this season.... so around 8 years time jump seems about correct. That makes Shane playing around 11 years older than he really is (3 year jump + 8 year jump)... and he REALLY doesn't look 28-29.

But he had a mustache!!!!

I stopped watching the series last year midway through the season. My wife continued watching. I read somewhere that this was the finale, so decided to watch it with her. A lot of LOL moments for me, given the circumstances. I thought it was an OK finale.

What that supposed to be a happy ending for Shane's storyline? Nancy tells him he needs to go to rehab and he says okay. Jump to two hours later and mom is sharing a joint with him.

I have a feeling that's the last we'll see of the kid who plays Shane. He's a really terrible actor.

But the rehab was for his drinking.
