Directv Everywhere?(laptops,etc)
 

How does that work? Read that its free. Thats hard to believe. Can you watch anything that you receive on your home Directv receiver or is it limited to certain programming?

I'm just waiting for the iPhone version. Don't know why it would be so difficult if they already have an iPad version.

It is truly free, although you could argue you are paying for it as the price is built into whatever package you have.

As for how it works, you download the DirecTV app from the app store (Android, Apple) or use your tablet to access their site. You can't watch stuff that is on your DVR, but what you can watch is these channels on your phone/tablet with the app:

Networks are Audience, cinemax, encore, HBO and Starz (all pay channels except Audience). There are hundreds of movies on there, so I won't bother listing them. the TV is limited to those stations I've listed above.

So it's not like what you think it is, where you could watch anything. the only true way to do that is to buy a Slingbox and then get the slingbox app to watch whatever is on your DVR.
