Also, I loved how they morphed the sound of the gun shots from Scarface into the sound of the money machine. Walt did a nice job managing Mike in the count room. |

Almost one year later and Walt still doesn't understand the business side of it. Sucks that he has to take the hit, but it's for their own good.

I'd love to see Walt feel the need to get rid of Hank for a while, release some bugs in Hank's house to make him want to get his place bug bombed and cook in a DEA agent's house.

Walt always seems so smart ... until his greed kicks in. I'm sure most people would jump at the chance at the payday he's making, even with operating costs.
As Walt said earlier to Saul about Mike handling the business side: "He handles the business, and I handle him" |

Did anyone else find it almost laughable when Skyler went nuts and Marie was telling her to chill out? I really don't like Anna Gunn so as mean as it is, I get some enjoyment seeing her character buried in the corner. I just wonder when she'll totally crack. Her being so distant and stand-offish this first half of the season is understandable but her character is just kind of a waste.
I also liked the nod to their new venture with their choice of Three Stooges short. The first one was A Bird in the Head but the following one was Ants in the Pantry, where they were exterminators. It's the little things in the show that keep you on your toes. |

I have a feeling that Mike is going to find out that Walt IS Jesse James by episode 8 or so. You don't mess with Walter White's cheddar.
Saul had already mentioned earlier in the episode that they should just proceed with the 3 of them. I'm sure he can easily find distribution for the blue meth without paying such hefty fees. This show always has several great scenes. This episode was just excellent from beginning to end. Mike and Walt arguing over the payouts was terrific, and of course, Walt telling another big lie to Marie. |

One thing that did bother me was that Walt and Jr. were watching Scarface on what appeared to be a tiny 30-32" tube tv. Huh? Are you telling me Walter White can't at least get a 50" Vizio for the living room? I think he has cash for that.

Walt wasn't technically lying to Marie. Everything he said did happen.

I'm wondering what Anna Gunn did to you to make you dislike her. You do know that she is not actually this character you're watching in this fictional television show, right?
People have actors that annoy them. She annoys me. Simple as that. |

No, in fact, I thought she was playing herself. Thanks for clearing that up.

It's been brought up numerous times, but what's everyone's feeling when Marie asked Walter if the cancer was back and he said no?

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Hazard Pay" -- 7/29/12
The way he dismissed the concern seemed like it was genuine.

I got the impression that that was just Walt manipulating Jesse under the guise of showing him respect.

Itll be interesting if Marie manages to bring this up and Ski eventually rats walt out and all hell eventually breaks loose |
Re: Breaking Bad -- "Hazard Pay" -- 7/29/12
They've made sure to remind us of Skyler's occasional cigarette and we know a main character will die from the ricin. Could Walt's final act of breaking bad be killing his own wife? I'm starting to think so.
|
Re: Breaking Bad -- "Hazard Pay" -- 7/29/12
I thought the point of ricin in the cigarette was as a way for Jesse to it to Gus in case he was ever searched. After that, he was going to put it in his drink or something. I'm not sure what would happen if someone actually tried to smoke it.

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Hazard Pay" -- 7/29/12
Loved this episode. Walt manipulating Jesse into dumping his girl after meeting her and Brock, under the guise of trusting him, was a stroke of genius. Also loved the way he handled Marie after Skrillex's breakdown. The look on his face when she hugged him, in contrast to the look on her face, was perfect.
The look on Walt's face while he watched Scarface told us everything we need to know. He loves the thrill, and doesn't understand (or maybe doesn't care about) the risk. Maybe the speech at the end meant he was starting to realize, but he's still his own worst enemy. Also loved seeing Landry from Friday Night Lights. |
