Is the UK version of "Utopia" on any of the streaming services ? the dvd for both seasons comes to about $16 bucks and change after conversion

I got the Blu of season 1, but i think season 2 is only available in other international countries.

As for streaming, I don't think it is super likely unless World War Z II is a big hit. A lot of people are saying he's got a chance of being the next "big" think in Hollywood. If that happens, look for Utopia to be more available (with the chance of it redone in the US market).

David Fincher and Gilian Flynn had a deal at HBO to adapt Utopia but things fell apart over money

Yeah. The thinking is if he can flip the WWZ franchise around they may back the series.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Check out the new Julia Davis sitcom "Camping". Very, very funny but also very uncomfortable at times. I love the way she writes.

Also - the third series of "Line Of Duty" is on. Brilliant.

Amazon's brilliant show "Catastrophe" is like that. Will check it out, thanks.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Fantastic news! Still Game has been officially announced as returning to BBC for a 6 episode series, after 9 years (apart from the Still Game Live show in 2014).

This is one of my absolute favourites.

You know Catastrophe is actually a Channel 4 show that Amazon just licenses in the US, right?

Red Dwarf XI airs on Sept 22 (Dave TV in the UK). Season XII will air in 2017.

I'm hoping it gets better. Usually I can't get to it quickly enough. This season I've watched 2 episodes and have been sitting on the rest.

The second episode (the oil stain) was better than the first (the wrong dinner guest). I'll get to them, but I'm not having the usual urgency.

Somehow missed this returning...probably something to do with it being so long I had kind of figured it was done. Will definitely be checking it out.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Friday Night Dinner got better until the last episode which was possibly my least favorite since the first series.

They've remade Are You Being Served. The original was great but not surprisingly the reviews for the new series are horrible.

When was a remake of Are You Being Served made?

First I saw news of it was a couple weeks ago when I came across the cast so I'm not sure when it was actually announced. It aired yesterday.

There seems to be confusion though as it's being reported as both a series and a one off special in reviews today.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Going to have to watch the remake just for curiosities sake. The original still holds up. I catch it on PBS every now and then and its still hilarious.

If you haven't seen "Wasted", watch it. Especially if you also like Game Of Thrones. Sean Bean in full Ned Stark mode ... brilliant ...

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Couple of recent things.

The Replacement - a small 3 part mini series. First 2 parts great, 3rd a bit of a let down

Line of Duty Season 4. Just started - Thandie Newton is in this season, and boy was the first episode something else. LoD is a great series. Find it

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

I'm really enjoying White Gold, about a group of window salesmen.

Written by Damon Beesley (Inbetweeners) and starring Ed Westwick, Joe Thomas, and James Buckley. The latter two will be familiar to fans of The Inbetweeners.

Quite funny, at times, although the latest episode took a surprisingly serious turn.
