It was inevitable: another Pawn Stars spinoff

Just saw an ad for a new series featuring Danny from Kount's Customs. I was a little preoccupied playing Diablo 3 but it looks like the same premise as 'Fast and Loud' on Discovery, where he buys old wrecks and soups them up.

This is getting tedious....

Re: It was inevitable: another Pawn Stars spinoff

There's another one on TruTV that just started sunday night called Combat Pawn. It's a pawn shop that specializes in weapons run by former military men located just outside Fort Bragg.

ABC has a Pawn Stars ripoff show called Ball Boys or something that deals with sports collectibles.

I was wondering why Danny hasn't gotten his own show... the guy is cool as shit. I'm excited about this one.

I'll watch a show with Danny for sure. He's definitely the best of their guest experts.

Re: It was inevitable: another Pawn Stars spinoff

Speaking of Pawn Stars and their guest experts, does anyone know what happened to the younger guy that was their weapons expert? The one that would go to Wyoming to the gun shop and shoot the cannons and stuff. I liked him a lot better than this old guy they're using now.

Yea, as lame as most spinoffs are I think Danny is a cool cat. I'll check his show out.

I actually enjoy "American Restoration" a lot more than Pawn Stars because it's people actually doing/making something and I enjoy the before and after a lot more. So I'd watch a Danny spin off in a heart beat.

Re: It was inevitable: another Pawn Stars spinoff

I've seen some ads again. It appears Danny will be approaching people with old junkers and buying it off them, which means scripted, scripted, scripted. At least with 'Fast & Loud' they have the American Pickers-like hunt for old cars rusting in a barn.

But hopefully the restoration part will be entertaining.

I'm waiting for History's "Rockin' Rare Books" starring Rebecca!

I'm sure the fans of her "knowledge" would tune in.

Actually, that sounds kind of awesome. I don't think it could support a series, but a few specials would be really neat.

I've been wondering when he would get his own show. I don't even care about cars that much yet I would watch it, because he seems like a cool character.

Especially since Las Vegas isn't known as a hotbed of book fancy and used bookshops.

Now Powell's Books in Portland might make for an interesting setting for a series.

I use to like American Restoration until they retooled the show and ruined it. I liked it when the show was more about the items they were restoring, not more of the scripted bs. I miss Kowboy.

Did they dump everyone on the show?

no they just don't show Kowboy and Keith anymore. It's more about Rick and his family.

LOVE Danny. Will watch. Would also watch book stars with that hot chick. History is cool no matter where the stuff comes from...so a history show about books might work. Give us a reasons to tune in and we will.

Yeah American Restoration was better before I agree. I still watch it but it isn't nearly as enjoyable as it was if you ask me.

I'll watch Danny's show though. He's always seemed like a pretty cool guy whenever he's on Pawn Stars. I really do enjoy a lot of the History Channel "reality" shows to be honest (Pawn Stars, American Pickers, American Restoration is still okay). They aren't anything really special but they're all pretty entertaining.

I like all those show also, but can't stand the fake scripted crap they add into it all..

Yeah, American Pickers seems to be the only one that doesn't do it too often. For the most part it's just them out on their picks and usually the only time they add stuff is in the van. Pawn Stars as much as I love it you have to know that Chumlee isn't that stupid all the time and that all the bets they make with each other are faked. The show is still entertaining though so whatever. American Restoration seems to be the one that got the worst after it was re-tooled. The show is basically just Rick, Tyler, and Ron now for the most part and there always seems to be some drama added.

Danny seems like he could hold his own show pretty good. I'll probably watch this since I already watch PS and AR.

I'm still wondering what happened to that Pawn Stars: Night Shift spinoff that was supposed to premiere back in January. Nothing ever came of it.

There hasn't been a new episode of American Restoration in about a month. I hope they're re-re-tooling it again and putting it back to the way it was. That family drama BS isn't necessary.

I think Cajun Pawn Stars is a waste of time, though. I can't stand that show.

Re: It was inevitable: another Pawn Stars spinoff

Would anyone know the song that is playing for the new ads for American Restoration they have out now? The old one I know was of "In Dreams" by Roy Orbison, but this new one sounds like a Elvis rockabilly tune.

I've tried finding it on-line, but no luck. At the end of the commercial before it fades out, he's singing, "va-voom!".
