Elliot leaving is a big blow as I believe she was in line to take Wiig's slot as the top female....and she wasn't as obnoxious as Wiig. Did her and Armisen split? That might help explain her leaving at such a random time of her career. I guess Padrad may slip into that slot now???
On another note, it'll be interesting to see who they pick to play Paul Ryan in the debate sketches. You know they are going to take cheap shot after cheap shot at the GOP this fall.

Elliot was nice to look at, but I don't think she was that special as a performer. Pedrad (especially her) and Bayer have been better, IMHO.

That sucks Abby is leaving.
Is she killing her career prematurely by leaving SNL when she probably might have gotten more screen time?
I think it is 50/50 for Jason Sudeikis returning.
It is August already and no mention of any new cast members to fill these voids.

Jason Sudeikis hasn't said that he's leaving Saturday Night Live, despite lots of stories reporting that he could be following Kristin Wiig and Andy Samberg out the door.
In his latest interview, with the Los Angeles Times, Sudeikis, 36, seems to indicate that he's negotiating a better deal. Part of what may be complicating the situation is that Sudeikis plays Mitt Romney and SNL is at its best during an election season.
Sudeikis, who has a role in The Campaign, tells the Times, "You start at SNL when you're young and hungry, but I don't want my pro years to be my SNL years. This is me getting to play for KU or Duke or North Carolina, with pro-caliber people, but I don't want this to be it."
He wants more from SNL. "I'd like the opportunity to use creative muscles that ... haven't been asked of me for the first nine years that I've worked there. It could be some sort of title change. The least of the concerns is anything financial. I'm not buying a boat because of writing skits. It's more having a desire to give more to a place I really believe in. To stay just for the juice of being in the public eye — of being Mitt Romney — is not enough."

Yeah, I'm sure Lorne is pushing hard for him to stay, at least one more year or the first part of the season for the Romney impression.

I'm jealous that an average looking oaf like Jason Sudeikis is rumored to be dating one hot celebrity after another every couple months

And he's only 36. He seems a lot older.

Is that new female cast member with the crazy eyes staying? She was like on the last 3 episodes. She creeps me out.
Also 38 years? Holy Crap, that kinda just hit home.

He looked like the son of Will Ferrell and Bill Hader but with less talent.

Brooks Wheelan's run at Saturday Night Live has ended after one season, the comedian tweeted on Monday. The 27-year-old stand-up from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, broke the news in an announcement made to his 32,000 Twitter followers.
"Had a blast and loved every second of it," Wheelan wrote. "I'm totally honored to be able to make this next joke... FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!"
A source close to Saturday Night Live confirms to THR that Wheelan will not return. The fate of other cast members' future with the sketch series has not yet been determined. Additional decisions are expected to come in August.

Not surprising since he wasn't in many skits and didn't make much of an impact when he was. There are a lot more featured players that should still be worried.

Too many generic white guys added last season. I think Beck Bennett, Mike O'Brien, and Kyle Mooney at least stood out from the pack a little, but Brooks and John Milhiser? I can't recall a single thing they were involved in. Colin Jost stood out too, but for all the wrong reasons.

 Brooks was the only one that I recognized from the new crop last season. I owe it to the bit he did on Update where he talked about his bad tattoos. Have we heard anything about the girl that only got hired because she is black? Did they fire her yet?

I assume Sasheer Zamata is on the safe list.
I would keep Mike O' Brien and Kyle Mooney and maybe Noelle Wells.

Sasheer Zamata is safer than Lorne Michaels.

Noel Wells had a decent Zoey Deschannel impression.
They should have kept her or gave her one more season.
