Great first episode. Resolved the cliff-hanger of last season while setting up the new dynamic for the second season.

I really enjoy this show a lot.

I still think the premise of this show is odd. Mike is obviously good at his job, so why not just hire him in a capacity so that he can work, but not have to be a lawyer?

That aside, I really like this show as well. It's perfect summer time tv, as it is the equivalent of a beach read. And unlike Fairly Legal, I'm very interested in this shows new developments for season 2.

There are two problems with just hiring Mike in a non-lawyer position. If it ever got out that he was practicing as lawyer without having attended law school (even though he passed the bar), all the cases he worked on have to be overturned. Not only would this be bad for the firm's reputation, but all those clients could then probably sue the firm for malpractice. The second problem is that if any lawyer knew that Mike was practicing without having gone to law school (Harvey, etc) could lose his or her license for not reporting the misconduct.

Oh you, with your making of the sense. I hope you're proud of yourself! -wink-

Harvey hired Mike without knowing he didn't graduate from Harvard, and only found out about that a little bit into the season, right? Or was that right away.

It's silly, but one thing I really like about this show is how sexy everything is. Everyone is good looking, and rocking some really spiffy threads. Not only that, but the show really showcases a very sterile NYC. This show is great eye candy for everyone involved.

I agree. I think Suits is every lawyer's fantasy about what it would be like working for a high-powered firm in NYC. I doubt the reality is anywhere near as attractive as the show.

Harvey knew right at the interview that Mike never went to law school. He was the one who told Mike to go to Harvard and learn everything to know about the school.

There was an article a while back that was commenting on USA's shows, and it essentially said that its shows are set in a world were there was no economic crisis. That has always stuck with me, because it's pretty accurate.
