The only way the show can redeem itself for me is to show Linden and Holder making the final arrest and then finding out they messed it up (again) and the killer actually got away with it - Richmond could fit this scenario.

Yeah, I've thought it was Jamie for a long time...but if it proves to be Richmond a lot of things happen as a dedicated viewer: 1) The killer WAS revealed at the end of Season 1...we just didn't realize it, and 2) We won't feel so bad now that Richmond wound up in a wheelchair.

When we find out who the actual killer is, instead of saying "oh my god... that makes so much sense... all the pieces fit!", we'll be shrugging our shoulders saying "whatever".
I'm kinda suspicious about the dog Stan brought home. The dog could've killed Rosie and although never see a glimpse of it - 21 or 22 days later it sets up a scenario where he can be adopted by Stan - all to be close to the family and introduce the audience to the killer. Because no-one would suspect the dog, would they?

And what's with the "2-Part Season Finale" ? I thought we would have the last 2 episodes aired on the same night. This is episode 12. Next week is episode 13 - which is the finale. What makes this a "2-Part Season Finale" ?
By this logic, I just finished watching Mad Men's 13-Part Season Finale.

I haven't watched this episode, and missed a couple throughout the season. It just amazes me how such a relatively well made show can be so terrible.
I was reading this thread trying to just figure out who the killer was, and I can't believe they've turned it on Jamie.
You all are so right that instead of crafting a compelling mystery, the writers are just casting arbitrary suspicion on a cast of shady characters and as a result killing any real suspense.
I really don't care enough to watch anymore. But I look forward to reading the reactions next week.

Also, somebody tell the writers that the media hasn't reported on exit polls since 2000.

I'm sorry but this is a terrible show. I really was looking forward to it but I enjoyed 5 Days a whole lot better. That shows wasn't that great either btw but at least I invested.
No one on this show is likeable.

I think Jamie is just involved in the cover up due to his dealings with the Chief and the Chief will be the killer since they revealed she's let other people take the fall for crimes in the past.

I keep hoping AMC will cancel THE KILLING, but announce that the characters of Linden and Holder will return in "X-Files: The Next Generation".

Could you imagine what a cock-tease that bitch would be in real life?
She'd be like, "sure, I'll have some amazing sex with you tonight after dinner."
But then she makes you take her somewhere else for desert, then another place for drinks then she falls asleep on your couch...
Then on your next date she swears she'll put out, but she ends up having to be home early since she has to get up early the next day... and so on.

I thought it was strange that they had him and his wife on a couple episodes ago. I think Stan fixed their flickering light for them out of guilt, but it was surprising to see them again after so many episodes.
I thought they were going to show something that implicated either him or his wife, but it didn't materialize.

I'm wondering if any of the people that were upset about not finding out the killer at the end of season one ever watched the original Danish series. It took just as long for them to reveal the killer in the original series.

In terms of episodes, yes. But it was all one season in Denmark.

There was an ABC series years ago called "Murder One" that focused on 1 case over 23 episodes.
Even if you think the show is annoying and frustrating to watch, you can't deny that it's a very well produced and acted show.
