Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) prepare for battle with Dick Roman (guest star James Patrick Stuart). Dick's in the final phase of his plan and the Winchesters must team up with Castiel (guest star Misha Collins), Bobby (guest star Jim Beaver), Meg (guest star Rachel Miner) and Kevin (guest star Osric Chau), the prophet, to stop him. However, Dick is one of the smartest enemies they've ever faced so it's a mind game to see who can keep the upper hand. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Sera Gamble (#723).

The actress that plays Meg is just so atrociously bad, and her oversized head makes her look like a Charlie Brown character. Ugh.

Good God! Dean and Castiel are trapped in a Canadian forest in the middle of the night! Will have to now tune in for season 8!

Every week I find myself getting more and more angry at how much this show fucking sucks now

They really need something completely new and extraordinarily interesting for me to even consider returning next season. No more Cas, no more Bobby, no more angels, no more demons and no more God.

Cas is back. That was "him" in the Canadian forest, not "crazy Cas".

Aside from that...sigh. Not a really good ending. Pretty anti-climactic.

I enjoyed it. I still hate that they killed Bobby, the only remaining supporting character left to care about. If moonface Rachel Miner becomes a series regular I will quit watching. She is THAT disturbing looking now.

Re: Supernatural -- Season Finale -- "Survival of the Fittest" -- 5/18/12

Not great, but I thought it was an improvement over last year's finale. At least Dick's finally gone and the idea of Crowley being on the show more next season is a good thing.

And just how "dead" is Bobby? Dean has died once (or now twice if going to Purgatory also counts) and Sam has died twice, so Bobby simply seems to be trying to catch up with them.

Didn't Bobby also get killed during the Season 5 finale? A snap of the fingers and he blew up? Maybe that was Castiel, can't remember...

so true! LOL
I don't mind her that much. I did like the other Megs better though. The first one most. (or maybe I'm thinking of Ruby? whatevs)
So nearly impossible to kill Leviathans are going to become "just another monster that is harder to kill than most"? They can't keep making bones soaked in blood like the one they just did. Are they saying they killed Dick so the rest become less powerful? They're going to have to find a way to stick them back in purgatory and move on from them. PLEASE

It might have not been the best but I still like it enough to watch another season.

Yeah, it's tough to believe she looked like this just a few years ago. Has she been hanging out with Lindsey Lohan or something?

Castiel got blown up and Bobby... I think he got his neck broke by Satan. I remember whatever way he died it was just after he shot Satan with a shotgun.

Re: Supernatural -- Season Finale -- "Survival of the Fittest" -- 5/18/12

The finale was okay and it did look we got the real Castiel back at the end. I'm sure he disappeared to go and get Dean some help. At this point they've pushed the show's mythology beyond the breaking point and it's getting tiresome.

Well looks like i'm just going to delete the last two episodes and wait for next season. Hope the new showrunner will be able to salvage this. This show used to be must see for me and now i record but never bother watching most episodes. Very very sad.

Re: Supernatural -- Season Finale -- "Survival of the Fittest" -- 5/18/12

I enjoyed Ghost Bobby, I enjoyed Crazy Cas, hell, I even don't have the same problem with Rachel Miner that others have. My big problem with this season is that there didn't seem to be that personal investment in the threat this season that there had been in previous seasons. Yes, the Leviathan threat was world-threatening, but what personal impact did it really have on Sam and Dean? What did either of them personally have at stake in ending Dick Roman? As a result, the end of the season felt rather empty. And the end of the episode itself didn't really resonate because we were only told what a perilous situation Dean and Cas were in, but a dark Canadian forest visually did not seem that threatening.

Come on Super X, that forest was EXTREMELY Canadian and INCREDIBLY dark! Add some red LED lights and it was horrifying.

All I can say is that I didn't hate this episode. In a season of craptastic episodes, this one was the least craptastic of them all.

Re: Supernatural -- Season Finale -- "Survival of the Fittest" -- 5/18/12

I thought it had some good moments. Misha Collins really did an awesome job as crazy Cas, IMO. Him playing Twister by himself cracked me up.

I sort of feel that Dean trapped in Purgatory is retreading similar plot material (oh no, new season, make sure the boys are separated for a while!), but I'm hopeful. I'll keep tuning in.

And yes, that Meg actress needs to go away.

Maybe she has to take steroids (prednisone, medrol, etc). They can puff your face up like that. Any known health issues? Like breathing problems, lupus or another autoimmune disease?

Apparently she was suffering from a pinched nerve :http://youimpotentsap.tumblr.com/pos...t-rachel-miner

Hopefully she's on the mend.

pinched nerve won't cause a moonface. Chronic steroid use and/or Cushing's Syndrome can cause it.

Re: Supernatural -- Season Finale -- "Survival of the Fittest" -- 5/18/12

I just finished Season 5 and I love the show.

Now that the 5 season arc is done...what is the best route to enjoy Season 6 and 7?

Is there a site that has which episodes to skip?

Thanks in advance!

if you "love" the show, just watch them all... for the most part they are all still somewhat entertaining
