My favorite episodes have been the Justin Long ones, but this one seemed like a waste of his storyline. His sections were ho-hum at best. What's with that?!

Past Nick's advice to Future Nick : "Be nicer to Coach or he'll leave and start living with another bunch of white people".

That line had me rolling. I'm glad they haven't forgotten good ol' Coach.

The Coach character was awful. But I'm glad they reference him and not act like he never exisyed like some shows.

Another really funny episode for me. Again, this cast is jelling so incredibly well that elevates even the weaker jokes or storylines. The heckling after Jess finally turns off Joni Mitchell. Schmidt passing out from his broken penis. A Nick Miller Manhattan. And the assault of earring jokes on Winston were just some of the highlights.

You got that from ONE episode?

Yeah, and that they just didn't replace him with a new 'coach'. Loved the little blurb about another show with white people.

I never saw the pilot so I don't even know who coach is. Is he on another show as the token black guy?

He was on Happy Endings last year, he did the pilot for New Girl (because he didn't know if ABC was going to bring it back). When they did, No more Coach and we Got Winston.

I don't watch Happy Endings, but I think he is a intergal to the storyline, not just some throw in character.

Yeah, he's a main character on Happy Endings.

Hilarious. Loved the BSG reference!

#backslide...Is that a new way for networks to try and gauge the popularity of their shows?

So Jess broke up with her BF after the previous episode, or did I miss it somehow?

Might actually be better to track than just Nielsen ratings, since people just don't watch TV at set times with no DVR/On Demand etc.

Yup, I think you missed it..she wanted the passion with Fancy Man, but she didn't feel it..and he didn't want passion...and it was over.

OK, I remember her wanting the passion with him and trying to fight with him, but don't remember the actual breakup being on screen. Thanks.

It was a little anti-climatic, might be the reason why they broke up (It wasn't a fight). Basically she wanted passion, he doesn't want passion, he said, so this is it? She said yeah, can you take me home?

She basically said something like "We don't have passion, and I want passion. I can't do this." And then she tried to get out of the car, but ended up making her seat fall back instead.

Not sure why but the jokes didn't really land for me this episode.

I agree. It's really the subtleties like these that sell this show for me. Schmidt passing out at the old folks home really had me cracking up. :)
