I'm on episode 3 currently but I'm shocked that there hasn't been one comment. Maybe because GoT is on at the same time (not sure) and people will hit it later, but I guess a lot of people did bail out on it because last year there were tons of comments and now it's dead.

I'm still watching but losing interest. I didn't pay very close attention to this one. It seems they are introducing too many characters and "twists" that I don't care about.

Was that Jasper kid, the rich kid from the first episode that they thought Rosie was with? And then the cops thought his father was banging Rosie but it was just his kid extorting him? And did Rosie's Aunt have something to do with the father?

Can someone who followed the major points post a quick summary?

I watched, but I have nothing to say. Why comment on any of the "clues" and "shocking revelations" in this episode? They'll just be revealed to be red herrings and/or irrelevant in next week's episode, only to be replaced with new "clues" and "shocking revelations".

This was my last episode.

I will probably check the thread, but not postings that this show sucks, to find out about the killer.

I really hope that the ones that find some enjoyment of the show are satisfied with the finale.

I'm usually one of the 1st to comment on this show, but I'm out of town right now, so this will have to wait until later.

Exactly. This episode even had a red herring and revelation and it's subsequent debunking all in the same episode!

A sort of recap. Mitch's sister is in the mysterious black car. We find that it's Ames (?) who is Jasper's rich father. Apparently, they are/were having an affair and he dumped her. A text is found on Rosie's phone which insinuated she was blackmailing Ames. Jasper's father was at the casino the night Rosie died but has no other alibi and the police chief won't allow Linden to pursue the lead. It's implied that Ames has ties to the mayor. (You know the mayor or one of his minions did it, right?) Jasper, his dad, and their lawyer show up at police HQ and Jasper claims that he took Rosie's phone and sent that text to get back at his dad for being a dick. (I don't know if I believe that.)

Jasper reveals that Rosie was totally freaked out that Stan was not her father and that she had found out somehow. Mitch sleeps with the nosering girl and when she awakes, sees that her stuff was ransacked and robbed and the girl gone. On the floor in the box of Rosie's stuff, Mitch sees the letter Mitch wrote to the mysterious new player (forget his name) who is/was the father of Rosie.

Honestly the show grinds to a halt when Lindin and Holder aren't on screen, so I was glad we got a bunch of them. This is also the first time I wasn't entirely bored by Richmond's story.

Not a bad episode imho... though obviously the killer is now stalking Linden, which makes me wonder about the killer's motivations. I mean... if it was a cover up, the last thing you'd want is more chances to get caught. If it was just some psycho who likes to play games with cops... then what clues could the cops actually find?

I actually said something similar to a guy when I worked at Best Buy. He asked about some rap cd in broken ebonics. I said, "First of all, you're white" then I told him where the cd was located.

I agree with just about all of this. The only thing I'll add is the nosering girl still thought Mitch wanted to have sex with her. And the name on the envelope was addressed to David Rainer.

Mitch's story is getting kind of creepy

 at Mitch. Stupid bitch. She got what she deserved for getting so fascinated with nose ring chick. I agree that whole segment was getting borderline creepy, especially when she was stroking the girl's hair in bed.

The Sarah and Holder segments were indeed the best part of the episode. It's interesting to see that possibly the killer is now stalking Sarah.

-screwy- Going back to Mitch, who the hell is David Rainer? at that now throwing out the whole Darren is the father theory from last week.

So I'm a little hazy on the painting on Linden's refrigerator. I know I saw it before but who painted it, where was it, etc?

Re: The Killing -- "Openings" -- 4/29/12

I think it has to be brought up that it's only been roughly two weeks since her daughter died. She's dealing with so so much, trying to get Rosie back in any way she can... But yes what she's doing with Nose-Ring Girl (NRG?) is borderline psychotic and obsessive. She needs real help and what she's doing is completely unhealthy.

I think it was among Rosie's things in her room, or maybe in her backpack.

So Linden never had possession of it. It was brought to her hotel room?

That is why she freaked out.

Thats what I figured. I just couldn't recall where we saw it. In Rosie's room when Linden was going through it I think.

Re: The Killing -- "Openings" -- 4/29/12

I decided to give Season 2 a chance and it seemed like the writers may have learned a lesson from last season because the first two episodes weren't bad.

I'm now caught up and they're just doing the same old shit they did last season. Everyone will get a turn at being a suspect that looks really guilty, only to be revealed that they aren't. Everyone has a big secret and there seems to be some sort of twist every episode. The writers are just throwing everything out there dragging this storyline to the long and very overdue finish line.

And seriously, Seattle tourism should sue AMC and the people responsible for this series - it looks like it has rained 19 days straight and I don't think there's been any sign of sunshine so far. If people knew little about Seattle, they certainly wouldn't want to visit the city after watching this show. And we all know when the killer is caught and everything is settled - in the most contrived and cliched fashion the sun will finally shine.
