Letterman is a legend, like Carson, but Craig Ferguson is the best late night talk show host right now.
Loved the show. Watched it twice before I even noticed Tina's flub on the east coast version.
So, one of the Kardashians was the person that needed to use the toilet on the West coast version? How did that change the ending when Fey walked off with McCartney as her boyfriend? She didn't do that with a Kardashian, did she? It wouldn't make sense. Paul was definitely a great surprise guest, but I love Amy Poehler. I wish she could be on both 30 Rock and Parks and Rec.
"Banjo" will crack me up for the rest of my life.

Sorry, I don't feel the need to waste time looking up ruined old SNL sketches to justify myself to some random guy on the internet. If you are that desperate to find some, search some old SNL threads here and you'll find many comments over various episodes where he cracked up during sketches and ruined them. Or Google it. Or maybe someone else here can think of one offhand. Or maybe you should start a new thread since it definitely doesn't belong in a 30 Rock thread that is getting sidetracked by my offhand comment.

I actually enjoyed seeing Fallon crack up. I can't blame anyone for cracking up with Armisen doing that in the background and it's not like his impression was this big important joke that was ruined.

At the very end of the East coast one, Jack and Pete started to make out with each other. Did this happen in the West too? I'm wondering if it was actually something planned for the show or not.

30 Rock isn't doing much for me this season... most episodes just get a couple laughs out of me, and it feels like it's time to bring it to an end. Live episode - merely a gimmick that doesn't often work well.
But I have to say, I really enjoyed this episode. I watched the West Coast feed and I laughed plenty of times. It's almost as if they were saving the best stuff for this episode. With the exception of Kardashian, I can't think of anything I didn't like.

On the West Coast Feed, Liz says "wow, 2.5 million people saw that" then Kim walks by with her phone pointed at it, and says "Now it's 14 million, you're welcome. Also, I broke your toilet."

He cracked up in dozens of sketches, good & bad. When you break character that many times, it's not genuine laughter, but a phony put-on attempt to put himself over the material and the other actors. You can even tell that he's not laughing for real, but just to get a reaction from the audience. Genuine laughter from the cast, like the first Debbie Downer skit with Lindsay Lohan, can make a sketch funny and memorable, but fake laughing just to show how zany you are is the height of unprofessionalism.

It is something that would happen at least once an episode during his time there.
I think Hader's Stefon crack up is a perfect example of a real pro getting cracked up and it making things funnier. I love Hader.

Very funny episode.
I loved how Cheyenne Jackson interrupted Jenna on this version and sang the West Coast theme song like he did last season.
I was really impressed with the quick costume changes they managed to accomplish is such a short amount of time.
I fucking loved the NBC Nightly News segment with Brian Williams and Alec. That was so sexist, yet LOL hysterical.
Amy Poehler wasn't as good as Julia Lous-Dreyfus playing Liz, but it was still kinda funny.

I thought last year's Live episode was much better than this one. This year's just felt like an overlong SNL skit.

I couldn't disagree more. Last year's was mildly amusing at best to me. This one had me literally laughing out loud, and that rarely happens these days with 30 Rock.

I saw both East and West versions and thought the West was better (despite having a Kardashian instead of a Beatle). The overall performance of the episode just seemed better.
