Pretty good episode so far in my opinion. Andy trying to break up with his girlfriend at her sister's bachelorette party made me laugh

Yeah ended up coming back and breaking up with her the right way. I thought the sisters were going to start chasing Andy and Erin but they stopped once they got out the house.

Re: The Office -- "Welcome Party" -- 4/12/12

Didn't really like this one. I don't like Andy and Erin together. Never really understood the appeal for that couple. It was easy to root for Jim and Pam because they seemed so right together that you just let go of the fact that Pam dicked over Roy (though Roy was never a good guy).

But now I just feel bad for Jessica. Andy came, with his new girlfriend, to interrupt a party to break up with her. And Andy didn't come back to break up with her the right way... He went back to prove to Erin that he didn't mean the things he said about her to Jessica. I thought the whole thing was a dick move.

I get the writers want us to find Andy and Erin sweet and charming... But I'm just not feeling it.

It was ok. The cold open got a laugh out of me. It just has lost "it," whatever it was that made it special, it's gone.

The Nellie character is hard for me to accept and I really wish she wasn't on this show

Please, please... kill off Nellie. I hate her. She's not funny and she's ruining the show.

I agree, it's a shame that the CEO character is leaving and not the nellie character.

Haven't watched this one yet, but I've recently watched most of the past season or so and just wanted to say that I'm surprised at how much I don't miss Michael Scott. I think I'm enjoying the show more without him.

This show has taken such a tumble since Michael left. There are only a few chuckles here and there and I stay out of loyalty to the franchise. Andy sucks, Nellie sucks worse and the ridiculous plots suck most.

Is Nellie supposed to be a female Michael -- oblivious to tact and common sense? If so, she sucks at pulling it off.

The problem isn't that Michael is gone. I was glad as he had worn out his welcome, especially with Holly around. Those 2 together were unbearable.

The problem is that they are writing Andy as a Michael clone, which he never was in the past.

So this show may be getting a reboot. Are you guys ready for The Office 2.0?

Seems like they're planning on making The Office a revolving door tv show. New characters coming in while the old ones leave and the show will run for 3 more seasons. Not good. I really don't want to bail on the show but this will make me do it.

Hopefully they do the right thing and sign Krasinski, Fisher and Helms to do one more go around (even if they're limited in the amount of episodes) and end it with whatever dignity the show has left.

Ugh. Bad idea, and an ugly way for this show to limp off the air.

I've enjoyed this season (Tate's character notwithstanding) and I have found the Michael-less dynamic surprisingly enjoyable and entertaining.

To me the absence gave the show a chance to let the other characters get more prominence, and I've liked this season overall.

But if that article is really the roadmap for next season I wish they would just wrap it up now.

That, and now they seem to be trying Catherine Tate's character into another Michael, presumably in the event that Ed Helms leaves the show.

The truth is this show went creatively bankrupt seasons ago, well before Steve Carell left. The fact that they haven't even tried to do anything remotely original after Carell left just emphasizes that even more. I think the biggest reason for the decline of The Office was that half (and the better half, obviously) of the show's creative talent went to Parks and Rec when that show was launched.

I just hope NBC lets this nearly dead horse die, and won't continue beating its corpse for three more years.

I would be down for a COMPLETE reboot... another type of company, another location, a completely different cast (perhaps save Creed).

Agreed. One set in a Parks Department in middle of nowhere Indiana would be perfect.

Nellie is Ted McGinley as Cousin Oliver jumping over a shark on waterskis. This character is "stop the playback and delete from the DVR" bad.

If they wanted a British comedian for the boss, they should have gotten David Walliams. That could have been awesome.

I haven't liked many of the writers' decisions recently but I did get a lot of laughs from this episode.

"I see you've discovered Benjamin. That's what I call my box full of photos of Henry."

"Do you want a gummy penis?"
"Uh no, I'll just have some gummy bears."
"These are delicious."
"But... they're penises."

Re: The Office -- "Welcome Party" -- 4/12/12

I've liked this season a lot so far far. I quit the in season six when I was watching too much tv and recently got back in thanks to Netflix. While I would happily take more office if they canceled it this season I'd be okay with that too. It's had a long run with tons of great moments that can be enjoyed over and over again. It would be nice if they could do a tv movie and have Michael appear again if it does end this year.

Another reboot? It already is The Office 2.0 -- last night was another set of stories for non-original cast members with the originals providing support. That's what the show is now. They could have fleshed out stories with Stanley, etc. instead of adding Spader and the awful British lady. I just can't watch it anymore.
