I suppose the entire premise of old Ted telling his 15 year old daughter about how he met her mother in 2030 should have given me a baseline for when he will actually meet said mother, but we know that Ted has met her by 2015 for sure.

Thumbs up to the prop department for using the "trilogy" boxes from the respective years and even transitioned from VHS to Blu-ray. Although I assume in 2015, they are watching digital copies as there is no box to be seen.

I did find it very sweet that Barney was able to finally mature enough and decide he was done with his old lifestyle. It was sad that we only saw Ted and Robin interacting in flashbacks and fantasies though.

Well, they also didn't show a box in the 2003 sequence, which was a nice touch as Star Wars didn't hit DVD until 2004.

If they didn't include Robin, she wouldn't have had anything to do for half of the episode.

Noticed that too. Very nice touch. HIMYM really did a good job appeasing us DVD nerds on that one.

I liked this episode. The opening may have been the best they've done. You never know what Barney is randomly up to in these episodes so to see him just being outside to let out a fart was hilarious.

I liked the whole theme of the episode. But I still think it ends with Barney and Robin together.

Funniest episodes of the season by far imho.

Good episode.

I was slightly put off by the fart jokes thinking it was too low brow for the show, but then I realized that you really do cross an invisible thresh hold when you get to the point you're farting in front of your significant other.

I was always under the impression that a man couldn't pass gas in front of his SO until she did it first.

So "technically" the show would be over in two more season assuming we actually "meet" the mother before the baby is born in 2015.

Well done episode, however. The best this season IMHO.

Robin making those pumping motions was pretty hot. Need a gif of that.

Would love clear gif's of the various newspaper headlines from what Ted thought the world would be like every 3 years.

So 4 episodes until we know for sure who's going to marry Barney.

Anyone still thinking is going to be Robin?

Maybe he's going to marry Quinn and then change his mind at the altar.

The 2000 peek at 2003 mentioned President Gore.
The 2003 peek at 2006 mentioned President Dean.
The 2012 peek at 2015 mentioned President Bush elected to unprecedented third term.

2003: “President Gore signs historic bill into law”
2006: “President Dean calmly addresses the nation”
2009: “President Kucinich kicks ass, as expected”
2015: Mosby is surrounded by piles of newspapers; the only visible headline: “America regrets giving Bush surprise third term”

Heh Kucinich as president?

The headline should have been about his wife, not him.

Han did not shoot first
Han was the only one to shoot. He caught Greedo by surprise and never gave him a chance to shoot second
