Boyd has his positive attributes, but the level of discernment he displays when deciding who should watch somebody who needs watching is a real problem. In one episode, he let Quarles, Dicky, and Arlo get the jump on his people.

I was a bit confused. Did Raylan kill Dicky or shoot him in the leg? I sort of hope it was the latter.

I thought he just winged him somewhere also. And boyd did fail miserably, but honestly, who else can he use? Everyone in his crew is semi retarded.

He probably should have personally watched Quarles and let the rest of it wait. The shit for brainsness of the rest of his crew (possibly Ava excepted though really letting Arlo get the drop on you is sad) is something that eventually reflects on Boyd. Next season, he'd better improve his game with some better help.

And with a two inch barrel for 30-40 feet!... I LOVE this show, but come on.

Very interesting alternative perspective. You could have something there maybe the guy (can't remember name) who said Quarles shot the sheriff was mistaken!

Weren't Duffy and the henchman much farther away from the officer than Quarles? I didn't see a sniper rifle or anything on them.

The only thing I'm not 100% on is whether perhaps Quarles was knocked close enough that he had Boyd's gun at least nearby which might have given him some sort of better chance. Maybe they'll show us a flashback to the events next week which will make it not such a glaring weakness. It's excusable if they had to go that way, but this show is usually better than that.

Because he has that "hidden up the sleeve slide out" gun was my thoughts. He even said something to the sheriff like "See? I'm unarmed!" right before he shot.

This show ain't easy to follow, that's for sure. 4 or 5 different bad guy/factions -- I don't know how any of these people can figure anything out. But somehow Raylan knew just where to go to find Dickie.

Side note, the pose in that promo pic at the top of the thread was used when Raylan confronted Dickie. I think...I watched the last two eps back to back so they might be blurring a bit.

As to Tom getting shot, why would he have rolled up there by himself. They had a cop that had the bar under surveillance all that time. So we're to believe that the cop would have left when everyone started showing back up at the bar. That the explosion wouldn't have had him on the radio going "Holy Sheet, they done blowed sumptin up" and then when Tom comes in lights blazing that he wouldn't have followed him in.

No, I need an explanation as to where he went and why?

I also think Duffy shot him and is making a play to run the oxy business for Detroit. Him nabbing Quarles and handing him over may establish himself in their eyes.

The show didn't play out at all like I expected (I was thinking there may be a shootout at the bank with one or two folks getting killed), but I liked what they did.

I think he was referring to Duffy taking Quarles for the reward.

I think it is pretty obvious. Tim has gone rogue.

He had it up to here with all the innuendo and questions about his sexuality and snapped.

Some weak spots, like Boyd monologuing his way up to a car he himself has planted explosives in, etc.

But overall I enjoyed it. So much double dealing and back stabbing it was blast to behold.
