I've never worked directly with the US Marshals service, but I have with 2 very large police departments here in Phoenix. Both have "street crimes" squads that basically just go out and find their own work.
I guess I just don't see Marshals as a crime investigatory agency, but I'm no expert. |

why is that scary? they use their informants to investigate crimes. they handle all sorts of cases, from drug crimes, to robberies. they also respond as backup to calls when needed. it's just that they aren't like a homicide detective, waiting for the next murder.
