Just saw the ep. What was it, the week off for most of the cast? Glenn, Hershel, Daryl, Carl, T-Dog, old guy & sad mom (forgot their names) weren't in this episode.

Yeah that was kind of weird. Probably a contract thing or something to keep the budget down, but it was strange considering most of them are in the damn house.

Contrast that to Oz which had lead actors in the background (basically as extras) for certain scenes involving other characters, to add to the sense that everyone is in this enclosed environment at all times.

I did LOL that Glen & Hershel were mentioned as being right there but not shown. Carl had some mentions. Poor T-Dog. Totally forgotten. Maybe they were out making crossbow arrows with Daryl.

They were probably just watching the Oscars.

I doubt it was a "contract thing" as most of them get paid for that episode if they are in it or not. Some of Hershel's kids are probably a pay-per-episode since they are not regulars...

I think they just had two distinct stories to tell and wanted to keep them focused. The plan was obviously to do the quick cuts between the two stories so adding a 3rd or 4th would probably be confusing and take away the impact that they were going for.

Plus, it looked like they were going for a men's side (safety) & a women's side (sanity) based on Lori's speech, so having Glenn in the background would take away from that message. The only thing they could have done was have one scene with Andrea maybe straddling the two roles by having Daryl tell her she needs to be more security focused to balance out Lori's speech.

WHere the hell did you get that?

Re: The Walking Dead -- "18 Miles Out" -- 2/26/12

I found it in another forum's Walking Dead thread. The site that originally posted the image took it down, apparently at the request of AMC.

The rumor is it came from the same person who leaked the Sophia picture during the first half of the season.

I was just going by Mad Men logic where the AMC execs wanted to cut certain character's appearances by X amount per season.

Hmm... well I dunno. I guess any contract can have those provisions put in them I suppose. So maybe it was the mixture of the two things.

Well, thanks, based on that description even without clicking the spoiler, I can guess what the picture shows. Think it's time to drop out of these threads until the season is over.

why the hell would you click on a spoiler button not expecting something to be spoiled? that's the dumbest thing i've ever read.

I hate spoilers too, but c'mon.

I hid it in a spoiler tag, and the spoilers I was referencing, for the most part, were also in Spoiler tags.

He said he didn't click on the spoiler. Just based on what was said before the spoiler we can guess what is underneath from what was spoiled earlier in the thread.

Can we agree no more casting news when it regards a new tv show instead of the show the actor is currently on?

Spoiler is they watch Army of Darkness & go out and make Ash's car. Then go driving down the road, taking out walkers with it. Shop smart, shop S-Mart.

What about movies? Several actors are currently filming movies, or will be filming movies shortly. In the LA Noir thread, should we not have talked about the TWD character there too?

I think it is one thing to post plot and character spoilers, but if you stop talking about the actors themselves it is one step closer to silly. If you link to an article saying an actor got pregnant, it is not really a spoiler to speculate that the character might die, get pregnant, get written out briefly, or just be shot only wearing baggy clothing for a few episodes. But it is a spoiler if you link to a TV article saying that the "character" will get pregnant because the actor did. Armin Shimerman played Quark on DS9 and at the same time he played Principal Shnider on Buffy. Russell Tovey did Him & Her as well as Being Human at the same time...

I dunno, I guess maybe I see the distinction there.

In regards to the spoiler lurking about (I guess I have to say this, but don't click this spoiler if you haven't clicked the above spoilers).

Spoiler:
People noticed that AMC themselves leaked the spoiler, by describing the DVD extra features. If you're clicking this tag I assume you know what this is talking about, so if you click the below link and read the paragraph, it should confirm your suspicions.

But...but if AMC is talking about it, then that means it's fair game to discuss openly right? ;)

Navinabob, movies are different because actors all the time fit movies into their schedule . With tv shows it can be done, but only if it is a short episode order.

Example where it is a spoiler involves game of thrones

Spoiler:
the main character Sean bean is cast in a network drama, if this was widely known by viewers, they would think he was going to get the axe

Not sure why this is 'silly'

Wow, it seems that something from the finale got put up on AMC's website by accident. And the news is being reported on by a lot of entertainment sites that are basically providing what the spoiler is. I'm still trying my best to avoid it though I think I know what it is basically. Ugh...

Re: Spoilers

It takes about 3 seconds to spoiler-tag something. Why not err on the side of caution for potential spoilers?

Anyways, I've been convinced for some time that The Spoiler That Shall Not Be Named was going to happen. No skin off my nose.

Doesn't seem to be working for me right now, can someone spoil what it said?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it pasted on some other sites.
