LOVED this episode, thought it was one of the best. I like how Toby is still being put down.

Spoiler:
I guess this is part of setting up Dwight's leave? Maybe it'll end up being his baby, but since Angela would rather continue being the (state) senator's beard, Dwight decides to abide by her wishes and leaves the office?

Hmmm...the very next episode after he (possibly) drove home drunk Jim 'happens' to disappear for a week lying about why he was away.

I don't know if I'm whistling Dixie but I'm wondering if it'll come out that Jim was actually the one going through the legal process that week instead of lying about jury duty.

Re: The Office -- "Jury Duty" -- 2/02/12

Aside from a few great one liners (CREED!), I thought this episode was kind of weak. Wasn't really digging the Jim skipping work story. I understand that Dwight ditched his desire to get Jim fired because he was excited about his baby but that isn't a real conclusion to the story. Maybe they'll continue it later.

I'm 50/50 on the Dwight being the father angle. We'll see how it plays out but I can't say I'm excited for it.

And I've said it a few times over the past few seasons but I don't like the route they've taken with Angela. I liked it when she was the bitchy conservative that had a role as big as Kelly or Meredith. She's still a bitch in many ways but the conservative stuff is gone and that was originally why I found her funny. The Angela from the earlier seasons would hate the Angela of the last few seasons.

No chance. Based on today's standards this is a family sitcom, no way they could have a story line like that and make it funny.

I would agree The Office has changed over the years but last week's episode was a drunken orgy with Caligula references so, at it's best, it's far from being a family sitcom IMO.

Part of what I liked about the show the most is how well they've been able to sprinkle in drama with the comedy without becoming an all out dramedy.

If Jim did get a DUI I would have expected them to cover it in a dramatic way.

I agree this isn't a family sitcom but I would be shocked if they did a DUI plot, let alone one with an elaborate cover up (an entire episode about Jim covering up his jury duty fibs, which in turn is a cover up for his DUI proceedings). It would tarnish Jim's character too much, and would probably require a drawn out redemption plot.

I just hate all of these characters. Every single one of them, but I continue to feel compelled to see it through to the end.

Sure it is. I said by today's standards. What sitcoms would you watch with your families? Certainly nothing on CBS. I'd say Modern Family is right there but their humor is just as risque as the Office.

And also by "family" I wasn't really thinking something you'd watch with young children, which is what you guys may have thought. But more something that the older generation can enjoy as well as their teenage kids.

It's really sad if anyone considers Modern Family or this show risque in any way whatsoever.

I'd like to see them wrap up the series with a season-long storyline in which Jim is put on trial for killing a pedestrian during his drunk-driving rampage. They could also have Pam be charged with helping him cover up (body disposal etc.) They were clearly foreshadowing this when they had her covering for Jim by drawing those pictures.

I like this idea. Then at the end both Pam and Jim are sent to jail and Michael Scott makes his big return as the guy that's going to adopt CC and Phillip. Then you see Michael (no Holly though, Jim killed Holly in drunken massacre) take the kids away crying and screaming while watching their parents get put in handcuffs. Of course, while this is happening Jim looks the camera in the goofy way of his.

And thus proving Jim to be the asshole that everyone thinks he is.

Not really sad if someone has different values. In fact, one could say it's sad if someone sees nothing risque at all in either show.

I liked the Goat posting above how past Angela would hate present Angela. I agree completely.

I'd like the series finale to be a bomb blowing up the Dunder Miflin building killing everybody inside.

I was thinking that too.

I was really rooting for Jim to get fired or have him resign. He needs to go.

I wasn't actually thinking that, it was a joke based on the last episode's thread.

You said in a previous episode thread that you were done with the show. I was looking forward to not reading your comments in here anymore...are you pulling a "Walking Dead" and continuing to watch so you can shit in the episode threads?

Stop.watching. and get a job.
