Which Starz shows / movies are leaving Netflix at the end of Feb.?

Starz content will be pulled from Netflix streaming at the end of February.

Is there a source of what exactly will be pulled? That is, what is the Starz content?

All I've figured out is that these items will be gone:
Spartacus (TV series)
Tangled
Alice in Wonderland
Let Me In
Blade II
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Thanks, I've bookmarked that website, but is there a list that shows only the Starz content?

And it looks like a few notable TV series are leaving Netflix streaming at the end of January:

3rd Rock from the Sun (S1 -> S6)
The Cosby Show (S1 -> S8)
Men Behaving Badly (complete series)
Roseanne (S1 -> S9)
That '70s Show (S1 -> S8)
Highlander (S1 -> S6) (February 22nd)

From what I read, Netflix had offered Starz $300 million per year to stream it's content but Starz turned them down, wanting Netflix to implement a two-tiered pricing structure where users paid $x extra to stream Starz content. Netflix declined, and is using the $300 million to shop for content from other providers.

I haven't seen anything like what you need on this website.

If you click the "Watch Instantly " tab on the Netflix site, you'll be taken to the main page for streaming. At the top of the page there a several other tabs including "genres", "New Arrivals" and "Staz Play" (which will show you all of the Starz programming).

The rumor is that Starz eventually plans to launch their own On demand streaming service like HBOGo for their subscribers and that's why they pulled out of discussions with Netflix.

Considering how Netflix has taken a hammering in the press since last year for their price increase, I don't blame Starz for wanting to move on and not be associated with them anymore.

Plus, Netflix does a shitty job with episodes they post.

Camelot only had episodes 7-10

Spartacus Blood and Sand has all 13 episodes posted, but Gods of the Arena is nowhere to be found.

Torchwood Miracle Day was pulled entirely.

How is it Netflix's fault that these studios keep screwing them in regards to content?

I mean, they turned down 300 million. This is not a company that is willing to be reasonable.

Some of them may be renewed if they aren't from Starz.

Well that's pretty stupid of them since Netflix remains the #1 company in their market, even after doubling prices.

The actual reason why Starz wants more than $300 million is because this is where all their revenue comes from. They don't have many subscribers. They're hoping an HBOGO type app will lead to more of those. Meanwhile Showtime has no problem doing business with Netflix.

Eh I have Starz and frankly none of the Starz movies are offered in HD on Netflix which is totally stupid. So I never watch anything Starz related on Netflix I'll just watch or record one of the many Starz HD channels I have.

Instantwatcher still has expiration dates of more than a month from now for some Starz titles, but I thought they are ALL going in February? Not that it matters much, the quality of most of them is crap anyways.

Weird, because just yesterday I decided to look through the Netflix streaming catalog (it's mostly used for the kid) and I was pleasantly surprised that they had Spartacus.

How often do they get new movies anyway? They obviously don't get new titles, but even their updates seem few and far between. Even with the 90 day wait period with Starz and the loss of Sony, it seemed like a lot of the newer stuff was from them.

Fuck Starz.

Netflix has an exclusive deal with EPIX HD (Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM's on-demand HD channel) and a lot of their films end up on Netflix within six-to-twelve months after their video release like Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw: The Final Chapter to think of recent examples.

Netflix has exclusive deals with both FilmDistrict and Realtivity Media that allows their films to bypass premium cable and end up directly on Netflix. This includes recent films like Insidious alongside future films like Drive, Lock Out, Looper, Red Dawn, Immortals, Haywire, Act of Valor and Mirror Mirror amongst others. This is amongst other deals already established with other studios like IFC Films and Magnolia Pictures (which was just renewed this month).

Netflix also has exclusive deal that'll start in the foreseeable future with all DreamWorks Animation content once current contracts expire. A lot of their shorts have ended up on the service, but by year's end, we will see most if not all of their content... including their most recent efforts like Kung Fu Panda 2 and Puss in Boots.

All of this is amongst current deals established with studios like 20th Century Fox which has been licensing a lot of their television catalog, Warner Brothers and Universal which allow them select catalog titles and Buena Vista which has been given them a solid mixture (films and television shows across all their platforms) to Netflix.

Oh, and fuck, Netflix will be airing the fourth season of Arrested Development.

As a consumer, I'd like as much of my media access in one place. Will Starz get a single dollar from me with their new streaming service? Absolutely not. Netflix offered them $300 million for a two-year deal. They turned them down and they'll be losing a lot of customers in the process.

LOL at Starz starting their own "HBOGO" service. Aside from the overrated Spartacus the network has crap.

I really can't wait until that happy day optical discs finally die off and we stream all of our media.

Thanks, that shows them. There are about 1,000 Starz titles.

Flipping through the selections, there are a few movies that I would like to see, now I will be sure to catch them before the end of February.

They didn't double prices, they changed their pricing structure. You don't have to get both streaming and DVDs which is what Netflix did right - could you imagine the uproar if they raised the price from what it was to $16 and had no "streaming only" option?

Re: Which Starz shows / movies are leaving Netflix at the end of Feb.?

The only downside to streaming only is having an internet connection.

So you can have internet connection issues, servers issues or bandwith gaps.

So it is good to have some physical media to fall back on.

Now streaming. Except for episode two.

I would like to have the Starz season of Torchwood on NFS.

Yeah, so when a movie gets taken off-line, you can't get it AT ALL. The quality of streaming is SO much better than those pesky Blu-Rays too.

Yeah, I don't understand the love for the physical media going away either.
A statement like, "I really can't wait until that happy day optical discs finally die off and we stream all of our media" has no real substance. Its like..I just want it to go away I just can't say why?

I'm on the streaming only plan from Netflix now, but I love to find out about some hidden gem that I haven't seen and be able to drive to Family Video and pick it up on DVD.
