Synopsis: Spoiler:
FYI, the Pilot runs 67 minutes 13 episodes ordered. Very weird scheduling. Pilot airs tonight. Episode 2 will air March 19th, the week after Alcatraz finishes it's season. This will take over the Mondays at 9pm timeslot. When Touch wraps production in mid April, Kiefer says he will start work on 24. Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
I am really not sure what to make of this show, at least not from the previews. And admittedly, part of that is because of just how difficult its going to be to separate Keifer from Jack Bauer.
I mean, here's another show on FOX, that will be airing in the same timeslot. It sounds like there will be similar topics covered, though it will be from a completely different perspective. Then of course there's the man behind the show, Tim Kring. He last graced us with Heroes, and we all know how things went there. It's intriguing, we get a little bit of Heroes, a little bit of 24, and shake them up. I have to admit, I'm just waiting or the first time that Keifer says "Dammit" or "we're running out of time!" (Clare Danes used that on Homeland, which has a lot of 24 history backstage) I'll be watching, and hoping there's no moles, or cheerleaders, or Chloe. |
Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
I think this show looks like boring pablum puking sappiness, and I would completely disregard it if not for Sutherland's involvement.

Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
I'll be watching, though I'm glad DJariya pointed out the scheduling. I would have been expecting more next week. Now we have to wait almost 2 months? I'm tempted to just save the episode until later.
The TV promos left me feeling this is a TV version of Know1ng. No Chloe? No Kim I'd get (except for eye candy), but Chloe was one of the most popular things about 24. |
Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
In for Kiefer, not Kring.

Looks awesome.

Looks like Kiefer Sutherland in a Know1ng movie. I liked Know1ng so I'm in.

I'll check it out, but don't have very high hopes. Doesn't sound all that intriguing.

After reading this though there is no chance I'm watching this show. |
Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
I predict that it will be mediocre. Kiefer brings his best, Kring brings his worst
and reading all these other posts, it sounds like we all have the same thoughts |

I was planning on checking this show out, but I'm not liking the time slot at all. There are way too many conflicts for me. I'll try to check it out before it comes back for new episodes. I'm sure they'll re-air this at some point, probably on a Saturday.

Tonight is just a 1 time deal to get some ratings off American Idol. It moves to Mondays at 9 in March. |

What are you watching/recording at 9pm tonight? The only other new scripted show I see airing in the timeslot is Criminal Minds.

Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
For all the reference to 3/18 in the preview, I am guessing they are airing episode 2 on 3/19 as a marketing tie in.

Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
It will probably be a hit since it is on FOX but if it was on NBC everybody would say it is stupid and it would bomb in the ratings.

Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
As long as the show focuses more on Keifer than the kid, I think I'm going to like it...if it becomes all touchy/feely, I don't think it will last long. The ads make it look promising. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a weekly "my son is in danger" show.

Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
Personally I think it's a horrible idea to premier a show and then wait 2 months to air the second episode - that's just too long. Many people who watch the pilot will forget or no longer care by the time episode 2 comes around. But the show should get a lot of sampling tonight with it's post-idol spot. Should be interesting to see the ratings for episodes 5 and 6 though...

So if they waited until Alcatraz was done to start Touch, they'd have to make these decisions with no data on Touch. At least now they get an idea if people even have an interest in this show. I'm not saying it's the smartest decision they could have made, but under the circumstances it's understandable. |

Not sure why everyone on this forum is always such a downer with new shows lately. I'll watch anything with Sutherland. Looking forward to it.

Re: Touch -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 1/25/12
I thought it was amazing. Seemed more like a Movie than a TV show, so I just hope they can keep up the quality thoughout the series. We all know what happened with the last series Tim Kring created.
