If it was being replaced by Awake, I wouldn't be as mad that this isn't getting a full season.

The 18 episode season is just so confusing. This series is one of the 3 best performing *scripted* hours they have on the network this season and if anything, going on summer hiatus in MARCH is going to kill whatever tracktion it had building. I had kept thinking they they would order 6 episodes at the last moment and air them in early summer but it looks like I was wrong.

There were some really poignant moments with the family members, especially Adam and Hattie and Zeek and his Mom.

Really enjoyable road trip themed episode. Glad they actually went in the cars and shot it on location.
Some of you may recognize the woman who played Zeek's Mom. She also plays Brenda's Mom on The Closer.
It frustrates me that NBC doesn't give this show more love. It's their best performing drama for crying out loud and they cut the season short to launch a fucking Fashion reality show.

I'm glad they are keeping Jason Ritter (Mark) still in the mix as Sarah's BF. Not only do they have solid chemistry, but the way the writers portray their relationship and how it affects Sarah's kids feels so real.

i hope they start intermingling the characters in different combinations. I would like to see Drew with Joel or Crosby, as he doesn't seem to have lots of male interactions. I liked what they did 1st(?) season where he was bonding with Adam over baseball, and wonder what Crosby's involvement in the music industry would bring out of Drew. I also could see some good stuff coming from Joel working some minor home improvement project with drew, and giving him manly skills to balance his emo twee tendencies.

I, too, love this show. As always, I like some of the more subtle things. I really enjoyed Joel enjoying Crosby's goofiness and jokes with the kids in the backseat, but not totally showing that he was enjoying it to Julia. He wanted so much to not be the "adult" right then!
Often, the plot is fairly predictable on the show, but it's the getting there, the acting, and the interactions that make it so great.
Adam: We shouldn't feel guilty.
Crosby: Well, I should....I did let his chair get stolen.
Joel: Yeah, YOU should feel guilty....
When they are all interacting, it always feels like they are a real family.

Another great episode. I was weepy through Zeke's moment with Kristina AND Blanche's moment with Zeke. All well done.
I am SO glad of the stance they are finally taking with Max. Even if Kristina did back down in the end, I think the lesson was learned.
And poor Drew... icky.
