In case you forgot, this was on Sunday night. But, I figured most of you were busy New Years Day anyways. I'll try to watch this later on Monday.

This episode was okay. Seemed like it was mostly set up for next week. Not alot happened.

 at Bohannon whipping the Swede with his belt.

And go figure the big Indian attack is the cliffhanger.

I liked Sharpsburg being mentioned. I like how they get that stuff right.

BTW that exchange they had about the bridge? That's how it happened. The Confederates slaughtered them at that bridge until they had no more shot or powder and had to pull back. Again, I liked the accuracy.

Swede got a little silly there over the articles and whatnot. Unusual turn. Them numba's weren't adding up.

Loved the use of the Gillian Welch/David Rawlings song during the camp montage with Lilly getting settled in her tent & Durant lingering outside. Nice to see producers use some great artists whose evocative music deserves more exposure (Sons of Anarchy used Richard Thompson's " 'Dad's Gonna Kill Me " a season or so ago).

Despite our delight at hearing some of our favorite musicians, there is always a slight danger that the scene goes on too long--a problem that Miami Vice often faced (although Mann usually just had Crockett & Tubbs driving fast at night during those long scenes, with some notable exceptions that worked great). It does show how much exposition or action can take place in a 2-3 minute span, though. In the case with the last episode, the scene might have worked better if more camp residents had been shown although the focus was obviously on Lilly & Durant.
