Synopsis:

Spoiler:
In the two-hour season finale, the 11th Pilgrimage arrives in Terra Nova and the mysterious Phoenix Group in 2149 makes its move to pillage the past with the help of Lucas and Mira. Meanwhile, Jim and Taylor team up in a last stand against the Phoenix Group, a colonist makes the ultimate sacrifice and a decision is made that will change life in Terra Nova forever in the all-new "Occupation/Resistance" episode of TERRA NOVA premiering Monday, Dec. 19 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), on FOX. (TN-112/113) (TV-TBD)

Episode 12 and 13 of 13

Last 2 hours of the season and most likely forever.

I've stuck with it the last 11 weeks and the show is just okay. I personally wouldn't care if this comes back or not.

For the guys here who have stuck with it (not the ones who watched 1-3 episodes and bailed), were you happy with this show or was it a major disappointment?

I dug it. It was definitely more like the first episode than any other since. I'm curious to see what happens next with the next set-up.

A major disappointment for me. I don't think I've regretted sticking with a show from Day 1 more than this one and that says a lot. Terra Nova now replaces Persons Unknown as my biggest regret of wasted viewing hours.

I didn't mind the "in case we get picked up" ending but the missing body crap was insulting and laughable.

I'm never particularly critical of movies and TV shows the way most seem to be. I'd rather sit back and relax. I did enjoy the show, and I hope it comes back. It's okay if it doesn't, but I would like to see it live on.

I like the balance between the war-like aspects, the family drama aspects and the sense of wonder like the final scene with the meteor shower. It's nice to see that television isn't so jaded as to avoid that kind of final scene, as sugary as something like that can be. Guess I can appreciate a little sugar now and then.

I assume it wont get renewed?

I enjoyed these last two episodes much more than most of the rest of the season. I'd like to see it come back, but I won't be terribly upset if it doesn't.

Pretty good over all. The pace was cranked up significantly and the budget was much higher, but the dialog was still very weak.

The final two episodes were quite good actually. Overall, the show was average at best, imo. Started off strong with the first few episodes, then got stuck in a rut and never really made it out. I too highly doubt this'll return.

Jim running on the platform with explosions and the TRex was hilariously bad.

I do agree that these were better episodes than most of the season. If this show gets renewed, I'll probably watch it again, but if it goes away, I won't be pissed like when Terriers was canceled If Fox really wanted to keep this around, keep it a summer show with only 13 episodes. Do what cable does. That way, you could keep the costs down by limiting the number of episodes.

Interesting twist at the end, though.

half way through

God they changed Taylor's son from a rebellious tech geek to a cold blooded meglomaniac murderer who beats up teens (well he can't do it himself, he gets mercenaries to do it for him) and kills women point blank

Stephen Lang and Jason O'Mara's contract options are expected to be picked up by the studio.

They are also looking for new writers for season 2 should they get picked up. FOX needs to make up their minds soon because they have to start filming in April to air on time next September.

Hollywood Reporter had a story yesterday mentioning some speculation they would move production to Hawaii, but the Producers of the show said that would actually cost alot more.

So the portal could be the Bermuda Triangle?

Re: Terra Nova -- 2 Hour Season/Series Finale -- "Occupation/Resistance" -- 12/19/11

I watched all the episodes and during 95% of the 2-hour finale, I was thinking I wouldn't care at all if it gets cancelled. Then the badlans reveal happened and I wanted to know more. Do I have any faith that they'll follow through with something interesting? Not really? But since it aired, let's talk about it.

The badlands reveal was a really shocking moment if we as viewers keep in mind where these people are. It's not like finding a ship from 200 years ago in a place you wouldn't expect. That's somewhat plausible. But a bow seemingly a few hundred years old showing up millions of years in the past? I saw two scenarios offhand...

1) Somehow the ship (and passengers?) was transported back in time via a particle accelerator, perhaps before they were using fixed portals at the other end. Maybe a ship because if you materialize on land, a ship will simply (probably) fall over. But if you materialize in water, you'll wish you were on a ship.

2) A previous civilization that existed millions of years ago? Maybe they were wiped out along with the Dinosaurs.

The show seemed to open up some real possibilities at the end. Unfortunately, they've done nothing so far to show me they can deliver on the possibilities they open. Still, if it comes back, I'll have to watch in the beginning at least to see if there's any payoff.

Better than expected.

The sixer leader (the black girl) has to go. Beyond terrible actress.

EW has a pretty good analysis up.

I took the ship to mean that there was more than one time rift, and that a ship from the 18th century was dumped into the Cretaceous. So the sixers, mercs, and "company" will try to find the other portal or portals and use them to resume time traveling. The Bermuda Triangle might be one of those rifts.

You must not have watched "The Event".

I bailed after about three weeks, as it was going to be nothing but conspiracy wrapped in a conspiracy nonsense. I guess surviving in the distant past would be boring on its own

Still, I'm curious to see how it ends. My DVR is still picking it up. Might watch the last episode.

Bermuda Triangle is what I'm thinking due to it being the prow of an old sailing ship
I was expecting alien space ship wreckage until they removed the tarp

That and the mercs were just as bad. You capture a colony and let the military second in command and the head of security just wander around the place. Who does that? I can understand not being able to lock up everyone, but there's certain people they should have locked up. That was just poor writing in the finale.

Overall I enjoy the show because I'm not too picky and I watch shows looking for the good and not just looking for the bad all the time.

It seemed like exactly the kind of scene an 12 year old boy would write.

It was strange to see an actual dinosaur on this dinosaur show, too!
