The promo for next week called it the finale and said "see how it all ends." Seriously? It's over after just 13 episodes? Damn. Were the ratings that bad? It's no wonder people are reluctant to commit to a new series, especially one with continuing storylines.

Wouldn't the obvious solution be to dismantle the portal, so people from 2149 don't come back to attack Terra Nova (unless I misheard how the portal works).
sure, the 11th pilgrimage wouldn't arrive, but that's the least of their worries at this point.

Taylor explained that before that portal device was assembled, people were arriving in random locations including the middle of a lake.

I still think that if they are in supposedly separate timelines, they shouldn't be able to talk to the same 2149 that they left. And that Lucas ends up in a different future, which would be more interesting.

Season 1 was always intended to be only 13 episodes. FOX has not yet made a decision on the show's fate (although I think there's a good chance it's coming back).
