This season hasn't been bad... it just hasn't been good. I'm watching out of habit at this point. I like the characters so much that they are the only reason I'm still watching... because the lol comedy hasn't been there.

Took the words right out of my post. The show went from funny to awkward... it's almost acting like it wants to be high-brow humor and not what The Office should be, IMO.

+1 on this show has lost its mojo.... the show isnt the same and Michael Scott really is missed in my eyes...
i thought that the show was great and promising when they were looking for someone to replace him... now that they did, man is it a drag... im watching out of obligation now..

Agreed about this season, too.
I was apprehensive that without Michael Scott the show would really be adrift, but I think it has become much more centered. Spader is excellent, and I already love the rest of the characters.
I'm in....

Agreed that the show has lost some of its mojo. But I'll keep watching as long as Jenna Fischer's boobs keep getting bigger.

Although the show has gotten wildly unrealistic, it's still good for a few laugh. I'm still wondering what Bizarro world I fell into as Gabe had maybe the funniest line of the last couple of seasons.

I thought this episode was fantastic, best in a while. I thought there were lots of great jokes/gags. The scene with Gabe and Toby was genius.
John Krasinski has just perfected breaking the fourth wall, more so than any other cast member. The look he gave the camera after Dwight's mom's name rolled off his tongue so fast was so fucking hilarious.
I don't miss Michael at all. His schtick was old 3 years ago.

I came into this episode dwelling on how the show is past it's prime but I ended up really enjoying it. The doomsday thing made for a great plot.

I was going to stop watching 3 episodes ago but I've kept watching, albeit in a more "on in the background" sort of way. This one I actually turned off.
I'm of the opinion the show was already losing something before Carell left so I won't put it all on that void. But the show has run its course IMO. I'll continue to enjoy the re-runs.

Glad that someone else found that as funny and amazing as I did. I need a GIF of that.

Spader is really the centerpiece of this show now. The way he projects self-assured, glib pomposity is unmatched.

I don't know if Spader, based on appearance time, could be considered the centerpiece of the show. Assuming the Emmys find this season nomination worthy, I don't see Spader getting a lead actor in a comedy nom. I don't think any of the actors qualify now as leads. It would probably be like Modern Family, where all the major cast members are considered to be supporting actors.

^No, I meant in terms of his presence, not the prominence of his role (which is fairly small).

^^ I'm just not feeling Spader. His character does nothing for me... he's NOT funny and this used to be a comedy.

Thought this was a great episode, and I thought Dwight actually had a good point. He just executed it poorly.
Loved the horse grave.
