Synopsis:

Spoiler:
After introducing a surprise speaker at a Memorial Day event, Nucky senses his opposition starting to crumble just as his election-fraud case is about to fall into federal jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Richard has a soul-searching experience in the woods before going back to work with Jimmy, who clashes with Atlantic City's ruling class; and Eli's bridge-burning lands him in a desperate situation.

They really upped the gore with Eli caving the guy's skull in and Richard scalping the guy who hit Jimmy.

I'm guessing Nucky's plan doesn't go as planned and he'll need Eli to tell him who's testifying against him.

Great episode. BTW, the title of the episode is "Gincrack and Bunkum," not "Gershwin and Bunkum."

All season you just knew the hot maid was going to get naked, and I think the anticipation just made it all that much better when she did! :hump:

The maid brought her A game. I think I have a thing for her.

Seriously though, this season is like a bazillion times better than the first season. It has been pretty compelling so far this year.

I loved when all the old guysmwere yelling their disapproval and the one with the ear piece was just yelling "Too many people talking!"

I enjoyed last season, and could not agree with you more. This season has been so incredible and I am glad it got renewed so we could be rewarded with this season.

Awesome episode. And plenty of Richard time

Jimmy and Richard must have overheard the conversation the guy was having about American Indians, and decided right then and there that he ought to be scalped like an Indian would scalp.

Jimmy to Richard, "scalp him."
Richard to Jimmy, "ooh kaay."

During the earlier scene where all the old guys were asking about the Commodore and refusing to deal with Jimmy, he was pretty vocal about his military service fighting Indians.

IMO this was probably the best single episode of the series thus far. Just tons of awesome stuff coming to a head. Loved the stuff with Richard getting saved and getting validation from Jimmy. That dude is amazing in that role.

I thought it was funny when Nucky was going to play golf with Shooter McGavin himself.

Hot Irish maid. Sure n'begorrah! Wanna see me shillelagh?

This season is a lot better than the first so far. After an excellent pilot episode, S1 bored me a lot.

I think it's safe to say that Jimmy's mother is a Ma Barker - she encourages him to be a criminal. I wonder if Jimmy will object to sex with his mother, should his mother "make the first move." They already kiss on the mouth.

I think he would object, but she won't. Don't forget she use to put his "winky" in her mouth when she changed him. She's fucking nuts.

Brutal episode! I like where things are going here. The fight between Eli & Nucky felt legit, although at one point I could clearly tell when it was Buscemi's stunt double.

I laughed my ass off when Jimmy got rapped in the face with that cane.

Same here, but only because I knew that old dude was rightly fucked.

Any chance that Jimmy might have overreacted a tad bit? Hmm, haaa, hummmm?

I know, I know - street cred.
something those old-timers know nothing about, or they regretfully forgot about. They still think their shit don't stink, that they will garner respect, regardless whether their hey-day was 20-thousand years ago or no.

Guess the scalped dude (who will survive, I'm sure) learned something from Jimmy, after all.

Only thing I didn't like was the lack of Chalky.

He's still in his shed carving his beat-down stick.

Personally, I think he's going to use that spear to get the remaining klansmen. "Street Justice," since Nucky is dragging his heels (in Chalky's opinion, and in mine).

IMO, Nucky is playing this right. In the '20s the Klan held a huge amount of power that one didn't cross willy-nilly. The Klan then didn't just inhabit the South. They were all up the East coast and Mid-West and were a force to reckon with.

That Chalky wants revenge is natural. That he would try to get revenge would not end well for him. Nucky would have to take a stance and he wouldn't choose the "negro" as that would weaken his power in the Statehouses. Nucky is trying to play both sides to avoid conflict.

I swear every time Jimmy is alone with his mom, it feels like his mom is about to make a real pass at him when they're close. And when that happens it almost seems like Jimmy is aware of her attraction to him. I wouldn't be surprised if they went down that route.

I agree that the actor playing Richard is great. However, I hated the cliched suicide attempt interrupted by something external. I was hoping Richard would just change his mind on his own and that nothing or no-one was going to show up to interrupt him.... then the dog came... ugh.

I had a flashback of one of Buscemis characters in a Adam Sandler movie when he was getting his ass kicked and he did not look like the dignified man of prestige we all known him for in this series lol.

Please no more scenes of Chris Mcdonald getting a BJ in the background.
