The X Factor -- Judges Homes/Finalists Chosen -- Begins 10/12/11 (FOX)

By djariya at 2011-09-13
THE X FACTOR continues as the 32 acts that survived "Boot Camp" are whisked away to their mentor's home, or to a location of the judge's choice, for their final shot at earning a place on the live shows. With everything on the line, the contestants will have to perform well enough to convince their judge, and another surprise celebrity guest mentor, that they deserve one of the coveted spots in each judge's final category. Don't miss the drama and excitement of the next phase of auditions that will have everyone talking the next day in the all-new "Judge's House #1" episode of THE X FACTOR airing Wednesday, Oct. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (X-111A/B) (TV-14 D, L)

Looks like it won't air at all here in the east coast. If it airs in the west coast, what option do we have to watch the entire episode? Will they have it online?

Yup, I just heard that FOX cancelled tonight's episode and will air it tomorrow. If it doesn't air in the East, it's not airing in the West either.

This screws up their entire airing schedule. 2 hours were supposed to air tonight and tomorrow. Obviously FOX isn't going to air Thursdays episode on Friday because of Fringe.

I would guess that they're going to air all 4 hours tomorrow, unless of course it rains again tommorrow (which it's supposed to).

Huh? I guess it must have aired in Canada. I can't watch it live because there are too many conflicts. I have to get it another way. The one I'm looking at has 'CTV' in the corner of the screen.

they reason they aren't showing X-Factor on Friday is because .... it's Friday not because of Fringe.

These 2 hours really dragged. I started staring at the clock several times.
What I found interesting was they apparently sent the 32 contestants to 4 different locations...one international (France), but they weren't filmed simultaneously since Steve Jones did interviews at each location. The whole setup is a little weird to be honest. But I guess it's supposed to be alot more personal than what Idol does.
Out of all the ones that performed last night, I liked Stacy Francis, Drew, Caitlin and 4Shore. My concern with Stacy is her age. If she manages to win this competition, what kind of artist is she going to be? And also, who will be her demographic....especially with a $5M recording deal?
Dexter was horrible with his Beyonce song. Lakoda Rayne was a mess even though they have 4 attractive young girls. The Brewster (Mop Head) Boys were unlistenable.

This is the perfect show to be post-processing photos and having it on in the background. Not sure if I could actively watch this show and not be doing something else.
What was with all the vocal echo/effects being added to all the vocals?

This ticked me off more than anything else...we weren't listing to the singers' actual auditions, but some studio mix that happened post-filming to make every singer sound a lot better than they really were. I'm no fan of AI, but I can't remember them ever doing something THIS manipulative...and on top of that, it's so OBVIOUS!

That was odd sounding. I'm assuming their adding all this audio adjustment crap to their live vocals. If these are actually redone vocals added after the backyard auditions, well, that would suck and confuse the issue.

They claimed to have stopped but the reverb and echoing was very obvious during some stage and these judge's house performances. It really gives advantage to "favored" singers over others which is really unfair. If they thought singing outdoors was a problem, don't make them sing outdoors.

Yeah, that was very distracting. You could tell by the harmonies especially that there was some post production studio sweetening. I sounded like an episode of Glee. Plus odd how they were all next to a water feature of some sort & the ambient sounds completely disappeared during the singing.
I wouldn't be surprised if those weren't even really the judges houses but rentals for the show. I can't imagine a celebrity allowing reality show contestants in their actual homes. Espeically that crazy Mick Jagger/James Brown guy. That seems like a stalker waiting to happen.

I was watching with my parents and they also said it's probably rentals set up for the show.

There was something weird about the singers outside singing to the judges, especially Simon sitting on the couch with no shoes on and the 14 year old girl singing to him.
