Yes. I wish they brought 30 Rock now.

Well, it was the best of the new sitcoms I've watched. That's not saying much though, as the other two (Up All Night and New Girl) were terrible. I won't be watching again though, because I can't deal with the laugh track. I think I missed half the dialogue because of it.

Tina Fey had a baby and they don't start shooting 30 Rock until next month.

If they have her in that nurse outfit every week, I'll keep watching.

In all honesty, the Outsourced pilot SUCKED. It was stilted, one-note, unfunny and a little bit racist, but it really did get to be pretty good by mid-season. I'm not saying this show can't also improve, but one has to consider that the producers had to slap a laugh track on it because the humor is so poorly written/presented that the viewer needs to be "slapped" to know that something was funny. THAT is not very promising at all.

Hence their print ad campaign where she was getting undressed for absolutely no reason at all. I guess when you know it's not funny just go for the obvious.

Re: Whitney -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 9/22/11

damn, this was awful. I laughed during the promos, but hated the episode (only got through 8 minutes)

with dialogue like:

"she was a beast!"

"...beyotch!"

"get off my balls" (the correct usage is "get off my nuts")

Screenwriters shouldn't be using these terms. I may use them in my conversations sometimes, but as a TV comedy, it's extremely lazy writing.

Holy shit this this was horrible. The only thing that kept me watching til the end was the nurse outfit.

Well I was one who thought Perfect Couples sucked at first and by the end I really liked it... This was worse than PCs start, but what the hell Ill probably stick around to see if it gets better.

This was better than the Outsourced pilot. Neither provided me a reason to keep watching.

I was flipping through the channels and caught the end of this show. It's pretty bad when a "comedian" such as Whitney has to be half-naked in her own pilot in order to get people to stick around. At least she realizes that the only reason she has a career is because of her genetics.

Although I thought the humor was forced and the friends largely stereotypes I'll give it a couple to get some chemistry. I know of some pretty succcessful comedies that had poorly received pilots but eventually got on a pretty good roll. I was one that thought Outsourced had a horrible pilot but certainly developed some charm by the end. Unfortunately it took way to long to find it's way to mediocre.

I made it about 2 minutes. The laugh track was just totally distracting ("live studio audience" my ass!)

Finally checked this out. Truthfully...I do think the script was kinda funny. Nothing else worked though. The actors and their typical sitcom delivery. The laugh track. The direction. If this show was shot like something like Cougar Town, Up All Night or Happy Endings I think it would be a whole lot better.

Yeah, the laugh track was so intrusive that it reminded me of the "That '80s Show" pilot. Random laughing all the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ooEWHO5dS0

Honestly, while I thought the show as a whole was aggressively mediocre, the scene where Whitney role-played being a nurse by getting her boyfriend's insurance cars and making him fill out paperwork may have been the funniest minute in the entire Thursday night comedy block this week.

At least that show had Chyler Leigh.

Re: Whitney -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 9/22/11

At the very start of the show they said it was a "live studio audience" but it felt so much like a laugh track that I killed it after 5 minutes. The jokes just felt so forced it was painful.

I think I was the one who liked that 80's Show.

Was a funny cocaine joke in the beginning when the two guys who must have come from the bathroom, one asks the other if his nose is bleeding and then he sniffs in.
