You should probably go back and catch up on the season. No point in starting at episode 11. The season/series is nearly finished.
Here's the episode's thread. Friday Night Lights -- "The March" -- 1/26/11

This (or Netflix). It has been argued how NBC will even manage to air the complete series finale since it clocked in at almost a hour exactly without commercials. I didn't feel a second of that episode was filler or wasted. It will be interesting to see how they edit it down to 44 minutes.

I was able to watch the last 5 episodes online the rest they expired.
The father of the black kid is a really good actor. When he and the couch have seen together it's magic.

Can anyone check their guides? I'm at work and won't be able to until this afternoon.

Re: Friday night lights 6-31-2011
I hope NBC allows the full show to air...or at least puts the full episode On Demand.
Be interesting to see how they wrap it up (although I've read a few spoilers a while back, I've forgotten most of them). While often being highly critical of the soap opera aspects & the glaring mistakes made, we've still enjoyed FNL for being different from the run-of-the-mill crime dramas, reality shows, etc.
Have to wonder why the producers didn't shoot for excellence in all aspects of the show. While they've done so many things right (Landry, the buttinsky fathers, Buddy, etc.), they still either make some pretty wacky choices (merging the two highly successful programs? The only time I've ever heard of that is when small schools are closed & consolidated...which is happening again locally). If East Dillon could raise money for a two-night hotel stay on a road trip, it's hard to see how the school board could fail to come up with enough money to keep the program going. Dillon (the only one around for the first three seasons) raised enough money to buy a Jumbotron...what's up with all the budget things? In Texas, they'd cut every other program available before they'd cut football.
Besides the soap opera aspects (Train Wreck Becky...from abortions to skanky beauty pageant catcalls to waitressing in a strip joint & taking money tucked into her shorts), it seems that they either fired the football technical advisors or just decided to do fantasy football. It seems that East Dillon has a three-man team consisting of Vince, Luke, & Hippie Dude. When they started the two-minute drive in the penultimate episode, I turned to my wife & said, "It's going to 88, 44, 88, 44, Vince, etc." We had a good laugh when that's exactly what happened. You might argue that it's realistic for the go-to guys to get the ball in that situation, but this happened in every game shown this season. Even the big defensive plays are always made by Luke. Why couldn't somebody else intercept the ball to seal the win? It's not like they'd have to pay the extra any more money, especially since they don't get any speaking lines (of all the teammates other than The Big Three, it seems that only Tinker is verbal).
Could be wrong, but I'm guessing that the merging of the team is just an excuse to wrap up Taylor's stay in Dillon & give him an honorable way out to accept the college coaching job. I wish they'd do a "ten years later" final half hour to show what happens to the characters in the decade since they graduated from either Dillon (for Matt, Street, Smash, Riggins, Landry, Tyra, etc.) or East Dillon for the newer cast members. Also be nice to see if Julie ever grows up or if Gracie Bell is the only mature Taylor kid. And, of course, it would be good to see what Tammy does with her career & what Eric does with his coaching.

Re: Tim Riggins (one of our least favorite characters...he's so prissy & vain that he couldn't even bother to cut his hair or comb it for his parole hearing. Guess he thought he could seduce the female members of the board with his hotness). If Tim had any brains, he'd put the lights of Dillon in his truck's rear view.
We thought it would have been a neat move to have Riggins get arrested for the bar fight over Becky & have his probation revoked. That would put an extra guilt trip on Billy & Becky and could have been milked for more angst & pained/pensive looks, which is Becky's specialty.
I did love T.R.'s comment to Luke to "use some protection this time". Hit that one right on the head.

Re: Friday night lights 6-31-2011
I TOTALLY disagree w/ your reasoning on why his character isn't important to the show. He represents what Dillon is: Small town, kids trying to crawl themselves out and getting themselves into a situation(s) that prevent that from happening. They have that one moment where there's a chance and they either blow it or someone else blows it for them.
In Tim's case, it was both .. he dropped out of college and his brother, Billy's "I'll do anything and everything I can to get rich quick because I blew it once" scheme got him in jail.
That line you quoted above shows that while it seems he's total waste, the truth is: he's the only one who seems to have it together.
As for the finale: Stay tuned, I think it was an excellent way to end the show.

Re: Friday night lights 6-31-2011
This is the final season of the show.
Looking at the upcoming episodes on my Tivo, it looks like ESPN Classic is showing episodes starting with the pilot on the 14th at 7 p.m. EST.
