Re: Expedition Impossible -- New ABC Reality Show -- Season One Thread
Not nearly as entertaining as AR, too predictable with the outdoorsy Gypsies winning every leg, an annoyingly bland host, and after watching a half dozen episodes I've still learned nothing about most of the contestants, but still has some good moments.
The military guy with the "broken" ankle is a BEAST. Exciting finish in the last ep. with No Limits barely edging out the cops. And the setting is gorgeous. (Am seriously considering a trip to Morocco now.)
If the show made a less lazy attempt to make the people the stars (instead of the location), dropped the stupid cliches, and hired a more compelling host, I'd be way more inclined to watch another season.
And another nitpick (though not the fault of the show): the rampant clue sharing between teams. The only reason the finish was even as close as it was last night was because half the teams were given the code to open the chests.

The show's not perfect and it's a little tiring that the same team keeps winning, but the physical challenges they've had to endure over 10 hour days is impressive.
The rafting through the narrow canyon towards the end of the episode last night was jaw-droppingly beautiful.
