ADWD is on most/all best sellers lists right now. No way that would of happened without the exposure from the show. I don't remember AFFC topping any charts.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News

Yeah, but the point is the next in the series would have likely done the same thing. Besides, nobody is just buying ADWD and forgoing the rest (he saw a million boost per book it looks like because of the show). Sure maybe he waited a few months, but I doubt he's been sitting on it all this time just for the show.

Feast for Crows topped the New York Times best seller list, and I would guess that Dance with Dragons probably would have as well. That said, I'm sure Martin sold a metric fuckton of books because of the show.

9.8 lbs (Books 1-4, hardcover editions) is my share of the metric fuckton. ;)

I'm kind of surprised we haven't had more casting news..we are days away from the start of filming. Maybe a big reveal at Comic Con?

People have been saying this exact same thing for at least 10 years now, and he seems to be plugging along just fine. That's not to say that he couldn't drop dead tomorrow, but so could anyone.

This relates to season one, not season two, but spoiler alert: Sean Bean dies a lot.

I went to the GRRM signing in Indianapolis last weekend. Martin mentioned in his Q&A that several roles have been cast, but their contracts are still being finalized. He's hoping to be able to announce them at Comic Con.

He's put another hint up

His fate is one that Derek Jacobi has tasted twice.

He knew Indiana Jones, has hung with droids and jedi, thrice contended for a Larry, winning once. He's been a knight (often), an archbishop (twice), a dean, a priest, a doctor.

The boards are guessing it's Maester Cressen, the Maester on Drangonstone with Stannis.

I'm not familiar with Van Houten, but I really liked Dillane in both King Arthur (Hey the camelot connection) and John Adams.

I like Van Houten's look tho

If you have Netflix check out Black Death with her and Sean Bean.

Van Houten was fantastic in Black Book and I'd say that Dillane was the best part of John Adams.

He is exactly how I pictured Stannis, not familiar with his acting though.

If you get a chance watch John Adams. Dillane stood out amongst other great actors

I gotta say, watching the casting news is way more fun than it has any right to be. They seem to be doing a great job, just on the basis of look.

Really Like Liam Cunningham.

Now I think the only 'biggie' is Edmure and Ygritte.

Tony Curran for Edmure..not sure who for Ygritte
