As a huge fan of (H) Jon Benjamin, I'm definitely in for this show. I'm trying to temper my expectations, even if he's well-versed in going off the cuff. I know it's not going to be Archer or Home Movies, but I'm still hoping it's a decent laugh every week.

If Workaholics can come out of nowhere, maybe this can too :fc:

I love Jon Benjamin, but I think I laughed once (when he crawled under the stall during Cash Stall). Disappointed.

I didn't make it all the way through the episode.

I liked it. Way better than Workaholics, imo.

That was the dumbest goddamn thing I've ever seen.

Plus, all I could think of was Bob's Burgers.

I watched both episodes, and won't continue. The man on the street stuff is great, but the scripted bits are terrible.

I'll keep watching, but as much as I love Jon Benjamin, it wouldn't be surprising if it joins the list of CC short-lived one seasoners like Big Lake, Michael and Michael Have Issues, American Body Shop, Dog Bites Man, Stella ( :( ), etc.

Kudos to Jon if those weren't actors! :)

Did these first two shows establish the format: a hodgepodge of news reporting bits + one large news story that takes up half the show? Because the latter are almost like one-note SNL skits that drag on waaaay too long...as unfunny as the Funny or Die series on HBO.

yet I did chuckle at the sight of the little little Italian going down on him, and laughed hysterically at Jon's method of disposing her after finding out she was underage. rotfl

I don't get the love for Workaholics. Third rate rip off of It's Always Sunny, imo.

In what ways? The people in IASIP are complete idiots and that's what the show is based on more than wacky situations.

Even if it was a rip-off of IASIP, does that make it bad? Nope, it's funny and has it's own voice.

They're both about white people.

What the hell happened to Norm Macdonalds Sports Show?

According to wiki, they only ordered 9 episodes, the last of which aired last week. I'm not sure about a second season. Maybe when sports start back up? The last few NBA and NHL games that may not have even occurred probably weren't worth scheduling around.

Also: Nephew Kyle FTW!

They're both about groups of self-absorbed jerks with no sense of how to interact humanely with other people.

I laughed once at Workaholics, and I gave it a fair shot.

 Then you have no idea what you're talking about. The boys in Workaholics actually help other people but I'm sure you saw the Juggalo and Chris Parnell episodes to make that sort of sweeping generalization in your fair shot.

Well in that case you should probably stop watching IASIP and go back to watching Seinfeld re-runs. Lord knows you can't watch any shows that are similar to each other.

Outside of a few episodes I don't see the connection.

Lol this thread has gone off topic. As far as Jon benjamin Goes. I love him in Archer but this just isn't funny. Long skits with very little payout. Won't be surprised when daniel tosh says We'll be right back with more Jon benjamin has a van. I love It's always sunny, last season not so much thought and while workaholics isnt great its decent enough for my 22 minutes every week.

I watched the first three episodes. And even if you took the IASIP comment out of the equation, the point that the show simply didn't make me laugh still stands.

It get's a lot better. I didn't get into the first few episodes either but stuck with it because I had nothing else to watch.

Oh and on topic, I love Jon Benjamin but did not find this show funny. I'll stick around and see if it get's any better.

I have so much to watch I don't have time for most of it. I don't see a reason to keep watching a show that is, to me, similar to a show that I find far superior.

I just watched the first two episodes and I enjoyed them both. It's out there, and I can see how it could turn some people off, but I dig it. I'll watch it for as long as it airs.

Finally watched last night. Will probably watch one more. I it had some funny parts, but the second episode with Little Little Italy was pretty terrible.

The show is pretty mediocre overall, but it has some bits that are worth watching.

The thing with the sound guy last night was annoying then hilarious. Especially when he got on the phone and you could only hear him talk back through the phone, off in the distance.

It's so bizarre.

I really want to like the show because I like a lot of the people involved, but it just hasn't been funny. I'll keep watching but I doubt it will last long. Certainly won't be a second season.
