Re: Weeds -- 7th Season Thread --
Someone on my FB posted this was "the best episode of the series in years", then I watched it.
He was wrong.
Are they doing another season after this? I really think the thing to do would have been setting it a couple years after Nancy got out of prison, she heads back to CA, opens a medical marijuana clinic and ends the show in a similar position to when she started it. All this shit is terrible.

I'm still in it till the end, but this show has become laughably horrible. Jenji Kohan should be kept far far away from television production after this is over.

This season started out shitty, then it got pretty decent for a few episodes. Now it just sucks again.
Someone above mentioned hating the way Nancy holds her iced coffee, I totally agree. It used to be cute and sexy when she appeared to have a brain and was a strong female character. Now she is just a sad ditz who sleeps with everyone to get what she wants, and what she wants usually just makes her life worse. It is tiresome and annoying.
Cannibal's idea to take this show back to Cali is a good idea. It never should have left. Hell, it never should have left Agrestic. It makes me angry because I thought the show had so much promise after season 1, and sort of season 2.

Agreed. This show is just horrible.
The only bright spot is that the growing/selling of weed has become part of the focus this season.
I liked that Shane is using his smart criminal mind to learn/work in that field, but does anybody really give a flying fuck about the cop and his relationship with his estranged son? What does this have to do with anything?

So it looks like this season's game plan is to reintroduce characters, then have them disappear again? Well thought out, as usual, Jenji.

I liked the last episode, and I'm actually interested to see what happens next.
No word on if this is the last season. Despite all the hate the show gets, it still draws good ratings.

I'm definitley still interested and am actually really enjoying the show right now. I do think its time to put it to bed but if it sticks around I'll still be watching.

I think there's still another season under contract.
In my case I'm ready to drop this show. Doesn't matter if there's just one more season or one episode, I'm so tired of this show.
Baby steps I guess, I'll start removing the season pass in my DVR.

Jenji Kohan said she was ready to end it.
David Nevins of Showtime said he was optimistic about season 8
So no one knows yet.

I'm actually disappointed that it might continue. I entered this season under the impression it was the last for some reason, and that's pretty much the only reason I decided to continue watching. Oh well..

I think this week was the first episode I can remember where Andy wasn't the most annoying character. He should snap more often.

So... (tumbleweed rolls by)
Anyone catch the finale last night? I'd like to think the final shot was accurate, but we all know what's waiting next season. And I honestly don't think I'm going to bother tuning in.
This episode was horrendous. Possibly one of the worst ever, and that really says something.

I haven't seen it yet, I'll watch it later today...but I believe I read somewhere that Showtime has not (yet) renewed the show for an 8th season, but that Mary Louise Parker's contract calls for one more.

Well, glad that's over. Not the best episode. I can't decide who I hate worse, Nancy's sister or Celia.
So, it was the "boyfriend" that jacked the weed that pulled the trigger, right?
Remind me, what's waiting next season? (There is going to be a next season?) This felt like a series finale.

If it's a series finale it seems like it would just be a dumbed down version of The Sopranos finale. Which I guess is kind of fitting considering this show's slide.

I thought this was the series finale. I'm just now reading that there might be an 8th... but Showtime has yet to make a commitment. If it does come back, all the gang might not be there for it.
Jenji Kohan has stated that all contracts are up after season 7, so if the actors (more notably Mary Louise Parker) opt not to sign back on, it could be the end.

Re: Weeds -- 7th Season Thread --
I haven't watched any episode since my last post. So I did good.
It's only 20 minutes per episode, or something like that, but still too much.
