Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Pursuing the power of her dark magic, Morgan hides in plain sight at Camelot where she begins her plan to drive a wedge between Arthur and his men. Igraine tries to find a way out of Castle Pendragon.

Episode 8 of 10

Wow, surprised it's almost over.

If your not paying attention for some reason, Igraine is Claire Forlani's character (Arthur's Mom)

I have to say, I rather liked this episode. I wonder if the fact that it had very little King Arthur had anything to do with it I find there's more drama for me when this show goes outside the boundaries of established Arthurian legend. We know that nothing is going to happen to the characters of Arthur, Morgan, Merlin, Guinevere for a long time. But the old stories are fuzzy on what happens to Igraine, and other characters like Leontes, Sybil and Vivian are new to this series - when the plot involves them, I don't know where things are going.

Also, major bonus points for additional gratuitous nudity (especially Claire Forlani)!

It was obviously a body double.

Decent episode, but I was disappointed by the obvious body doubling, since Claire Forlani is looking quite cougarliscious in this role and she hasn't, historically, been averse to doing nude scenes. (She was looking damned good in a shower scene in "False Witness" a couple of years ago.)

I could've sworn there were still a few shots where you can see her face and ... some other parts of her.

Yup, Starz is re-airing episodes 5 and 6 back to back. Returns June 3rd.

Just to give you an idea on how this show is doing ratings-wise, the episode that aired on May 16th got 845K in viewershio and 0.4 in the demos.

That's better than both Treme and The Borgias and both of those shows got renewed for another season. I don't know what Starz philosophy is, but I think the chances of this getting renewed are pretty good.

My thoughts exactly while watching.

Claire Forlani is fine as an actress, but her Botox look...which she has evidently had since her Joe Black days...looks exaggerated these days. It's a real distraction for me...just doesn't seem to fit the period.

Perhaps Merlin's sorcery is to blame?

Screen caps could settle this Forlani debate

Go for it! My impressions could certainly have stemmed from some wishful thinking from my subconscious. And the way they intercut Guinevere's nude scene probably added to the confusion. I'll have to retape it onto my DVR for further analysis ... for purely intellectual reasons, of course

Richard Sharpe would call this the Forlani Hope.

Speaking of Sharpe, Game of Thrones is on tonight!

Was surprised to hear there are only two episodes left in the season. I couldn't even tell you what the main conflict plot point is yet. The show is made up of three or four weak subplots and just kind of muddles along aimlessly among them. It really seems as though since Arthur and the rest arrived at Camelot virtually nothing has happened to move the story along. It has become remarkably boring, and when I heard there were only two more episodes remaining in the season I just sort of shrugged.

Don't bother. It was so absolutely obvious that it was a body double. Both in the beginning and in the sex scene at the end.
